I have been fortunate to get out fishing with friends a total of 5 days since Friday 3/11, and the Sea of Cortez hasn't disappointed us. We cruised through huge pods of dolphins one day, had 4 finback whales working close to the boat the next. We watched an Ocean Sunfish clumsily working its way along the surface and saw striped marlin slowly tailing the glassy seas on consecutive days. We watched a giant sea turtle catch his breath at the surface and had a huge mako shark rip a 30 pound white sea bass in half before rising to the surface to circle the boat. We caught lots of fish; including a 103 pound gulf grouper, a sawtail grouper, and a rare and beautiful golden phase leopard grouper. Fishing was fantastic on some days, and pretty slow on others, but always completely intoxicating.
