Fishing March 6th

:)Day did not start out very good, mile out of thew marina I lost the impellar to one of my engines, I quess it was an omen, we went back to the marina and my friends there went to work on the boat and in 30 minutes they put on a used impeller that I had in my tool box, Along with me was Mike Berry a friend from work and Fillipe from the Safari, we headed out again and arrived at my reef at 10:15 A.M. very little wind , I was able to do 35 miles per hour, we got there and figured out the drift, as soon as I dropped I got hit, I knew it was a gulf grouper, not a huge one but nice 41 lbs, I put up my pole and just put the boat over the rocks and next drift Mike hooked up with a 12lb pinta, next drift Fillipe hooked up with a 15 lb pinta, the wind started to pick up so I put out my drift sock went back over the rock and Fillipe hooked up again this time a 20lb pinta, I told the guys that I would make one more drift since the wind was getting stronger, we made one more drift nothing, I gave in and made one more drift this time Mike hooked up and I could tell it was a nice one, after a while he brought it up and I gaffed it nice gulf I guessed between 65 to 75 it weighed out at 72, all in all a great day since we only fished 2 hours, the ride back was lumpy but we had a following sea,

Glad you got out and those are some quality fish! I heard it was blowing pretty good on Saturday.

Was that you Friday night talking with Fillipe? I was the guy that came over to see Fillipe and as usual he said I was getting fat... congrats... you had a good day
