As many of us have been saying for years, no cruise ships will ever come to this thing. Stop the madness while it can still be salvaged! They could even save face by saying something like.... "It can be extended to be a port if and when market conditions improve"

And I hope it will be completed to perfection, with all the bells and whistles. Number one rule is when you start something finish it better than anyone could have hoped for. If the ships come, then so be it. If they don't, then make it into Stuart's Santa Monica Pier, but make it bigger and better. Bring on the Hobie sailboat races, attract the yacht club, make it a really cool place. But whatever happens, don't leave it an unfinished eyesore.

I bet it will be a great to fish from and probably snorkel or scuba.....
All kidding aside, the one thing I can say with what is already there, its a bummer not being able to see the boats going into port and the view of the town from the Cholla side of sandy beach. I don't want to imagine how it will look with anything larger than a shrimp boat parked there.

It's behind schedule for sure but eventually cruise ships will be coming and going from the Home Port that the Mexican Federal Gov. & State of Sonora have invested heavily in. To the Naysayers, it's going to happen!!!!! It's just going to take more time.

I'm guessing it will be a similar situation as with the international airport. They will finish it to the point of being usable with hopes of ships and passengers showing up. Eventually there should be activity at both places as they will compliment each other but only time will tell.

Went out exploring Sunday. Went out past the Myaan to a fish camp. On the way back we decided to check out the airport.
Pulled up and guard came out. Private flights and entry only but hoping for some Mexican airline to start bringing people in. Maybe that is what he spoke of.
