My recommendation would be to book a vacation and charter out of San Carlos. There are a few Dorado that make it up North during that time but they are very far and few between.
There are some dorado around, but further out and south. We've had them school up by the boat at the 51 in the fall. Most of them are peanuts. We have had a few good trips in the past, especially if you can find a weedline, but that's usually earlier in June or so. Given all the longlines further south, not many of the bigger models make it very far north. Here's some pics of letting the boys slam some dodos in Rocky Point.
