It seems it only works on galvenized material. I was hoping it would also work on other metals but no.

Our product does not protect metal it just stains galvanized metal to a
rustic brown finish. The color/finish holds up very well even in coastal
climates. It does work on corroded or rusted metal but it depends what you
are trying to accomplish. If you had some old galvanized metal panels that
had some rusted areas and you were trying to make everything more uniform in
appearance Natina might be a good fit for this application. We have stained
both brand new galvanized items and older galvanized metal and the results
are very similar. Regardless of the coastal climate the color will last
indefinitely and will never fade, crack, or peel off as long as it is not
removed by harsh physical or chemical abrasion.
