Very interesting reading.
I'm not an economist but I do realize there are some serious roadblocks that hinder Mexico's economy. The internet is one of them. Carlos Slim has zero interest in providing world standard internet because doing so directly impacts both his hard-wire and cel phone business.
Something has to give. In my opinion, Slim is retarding development across many other industries with his position. VOIP has not killed communications companies in the United States, Europe, South America, or Asia, what is Slim so afraid of?
