Regarding my comment about newbies. I have just noticed over the past 10 years or so I've been on this and the previous forum that while of course new people are always welcome, there is a tendency that the newer folk tend to be the least tolerent of others. They lack the perspective that grows with time. Those of us long termers recognize ourselves and others as occasional goofballs and enjoy each other, even if we do not completely agree. Yes use the ignore feature if your outrage grows out of control. It will be like eating french fries without salt.

this forum is fine.
Having a range going from Russ to Jerry is a great barometer of things going on here. IMO, They both deserve air time!

When someone like Jerry gives his opinion it is from critically thinking. In order to be a critical thinker one must question, one must be CRITICAL. The difference between critical thinkers like Jerry and you is that you perceive being critical as NEGATIVE whereas we view it as our obligation. Our opinions don't change what is happening. We have no agenda except to help you understand the pros and cons of living in Mexico, and learn quickly. We live in Las Conchas, well off the beach. But, we can drink our tap water !

We still have no idea if Jerry is a female or male. Our older neighbor lady across the street spells her name "Jerry", and my cousin in Texas spells his name as "Gerry". Who knows ? For now Jerry has to be "it".

I suggest you can learn more about Rocky Point than reading the drivel from Jerry. It has never lived here. It has an agenda to harm everything PP.

Mexican Joe: what you are not realizing here is Jerry is a long distance sniper. Jerry has never lived in PP. It spends some weekends in Mexico but many miles away, where it need not educate itself about anything actually going on in PP. Jerry, from a distance, downgrades things it does not know. It promotes itself as an expert on every forum regarding PP. It is all knowing; it is the final say of everything Rocky Point. This person claims to be an authority on everything ! The fact is Jerry knows squat about Mexico....knows naught of value about this part of the world. Jerry is a person of straw on anything Rocky Point....lots of fluff but no substance. Jerry has never revealed its credentials, experience or education. In my observation, Jerry is a wanna-be alpha person, unfortunately not equipped for a role that requires informed opinions . Jerry has constantly beat up normal intelligent bloggers, who actually know something about RP-PP, with its belligerent attitude of knowing everything. It has attracted some constant likkers like kenny from out of country towns who feed his "wisdom" . Jerry (and his minions) is a bully and of no value to understanding PP.

If you want honest and reasoned information about RP, ask someone who is intelligent and who knows from real experience. You will spot these folks by their intelligent posts. Ask folks if they are PPRES

I don't think it was a really big deal.

No one should be insulted about anything that I said at all. No names were called and no sides were taken. I think that I said the situation was very complex. Anything that could help Puerto Peñasco I am all for as long as it helps the people there.I am just not as optimistic as some others might be.

No one can truly know how it will pan out. Nothing said here will make or break the deal or even affect whether or not the project comes to fruition.

Me not calling it Rocky Point is not an insult, but I will tell you when I say I am going to Rocky point up here in Mesa, not in the hills, when people hear that name nothing but bad comes into their minds. Cartels, corrupt police, shoot outs, drugs, booze and people basically acting like animals for the weekend. You have no idea how much promotion I do to get people I come into contact with to get over their fears of going down.

When I say Puerto Peñasco they say, where is that! And then I paint a very different mental picture to them than what they see on TV and read about online lumping PP in with the rest of Mexico. I instantly show them pictures on my phone that look much different than they expect.

I didn't bash or trash any ones personal opinion and my personal opinion was not out of control or unreasonable.

No one should have to be fighting over anything I wrote, or treating me as if I insulted anyone. I appreciate Puerto Peñasco more than you give me credit for and am concerned that it might not all work out as well as some others think it might, very simple.

I am trying not to really let this bother me but, I behave, respect and treat that area better than most that go down there and use it as a weekend toilet no matter how often I am there or whether or not I own property down there. The fact that someone owns down there doesn't mean that they're opinion holds more weight than anyone else that appreciates Puerto Peñasco.

This should end now, it was made a bigger deal than it should have been by far.
