Could slow start shrimp capture in Santa Clara Gulf
Few pangas are going to venture out today, starting crustacean fishing

Today the legal shrimp fishing season begins, but it is possible to start something slow as coastal people prefer to wait for the second tide, which is in mid-October.
Shrimp season begins this Tuesday; fishing leader Andrés González López reported that, for them, going out to capture shrimp can mean something at risk, due to strong currents at sea, and therefore prefer to wait a little longer.
′′ Few pangas are going to come out, maybe about 200 at the most, what happens is that right now is the biggest tide of the year and tomorrow (today) is the same, so there is a lot of water stream and it is very risky, but still, several are going fishing ".
He added that while it is the strong product of the fishing year, the fact that the product cannot be exported to the US, discourages activity a little bit as the catch of the species is destined for the domestic market exclusively.
He said that, in two months, authorities and villagers of the Gulf of Santa Clara managed to stop 10 shrimp poachers, this, before the veda was lifted today Tuesday, September 21, but to the people who stopped, they only received a wake up call and removed their equipment, so they wouldn't continue to produce before their time.
′′ The detail is that they themselves hurt themselves with these actions, and also others, by taking out shrimp that was not fully developed, damages the capture we will make once the vede is lifted ".
He added that the size of the crustacean is smaller, and in that state, there is virtually no price on the market, that's something that the sneakers don't take into account and it's little what they get from selling the product.
