Open about a month ago, it is located in the port area across from where the Intrepid is parked, the old Terramar Restaurant, in my opinion Sonora has one of the best beef in the southwest and they sure know how to cook it at Bacanora, 2 of the 4 partners have been in the restaurant business for years and they both have showed us how good food is here in PP, the chef has worked for Las Palomas and Mayan Palace among a few other restaurant.
We ordered the Parrillada, WOW!!! we were so amazed with the flavors bursting in our mouths that we did not speak until the food was almost gone.
OK first they brought us a creme of shrimp soap which reminded me of Chupe de camarones from Peru, if you like shrimp this soup will blow you away!!!!!
The soup was followed by a salad with a house dressing made with chile chiltepin very tasty and not as hot as it sounds then the main entree came in sizzling iron skillet with cambray onion (mexican green onions) nopales, ribs, and two more cuts of beef and a mexican sausage that has the consistency/texture of a hot dog winner but has a different taste similar to chorizo all this beauty was left in front of us with forks and knives and the salsas they brought were finger liking good the well known tomatillo green salsa, a pico de gallo style one with green chiles and the best was the apple and chiltepin salsa, this one is hot and TASTY!!!
We ended dinner with strawberries with vanilla ice cream flamed in bacanora and chiltepines ( they will make it to your heat as in chile heat) talk about a flavor mix WOW!!!!
Most if not everything has a touch of bacanora (mexican moonshine) and they use artesanal bacanora, we are not bacanora drinkers however we ordered a shot to have the full experience.
It was well worth it going and tasting the best grilled beef and best of all, the customer service, was like nowhere in RP!!!!.
