A prayer or two wouldn't hurt.

I just received a call from our old friend and my fishing buddy Don, and he's in the ICU unit up in Flag (didn't catch what Hospital). It seems that a small puncture wound on the back of his knuckle, cause unknown, has blown into a bad infection, and their going to be pumping him full of antibiotics for a few day's. He's going to keep me informed and I'll pass any info along as I get it. He's a tough one, so I'm sure he'll be fine in no time at all.

It sounds like that necrotic flesh eating bacteria. I just saw something on that last week and it scared the heck out of me since I'm a camping, 4 wheeling, Rocky Point freak! I got stuck by a rusty nail in Puerto Lobos a few months ago and now I'm thanking God nothing happened.....God, please take care of our friend, Don. He and Kenny have lots more fishin' to do!

Absolutely no idea of what it could have been, he thought it might have just been a splinter or something like that at first.

Well I just received a call from Don, and I could actually tell it was him! He sounded much better. It seems he picked up a strain of what's commonly called "MRSA",, a type of staph infection...mrsa - Bing Health He'll know soon if he'll be taking oral medication, or a series of shots for a month or better. He's hoping to go home tomorrow.
Don wants me to thank you all for thinking of him, and sending your prayers and positive vibes. The vibes was my idea..LOL

Praying for the anti-biotics to do their job and for a complete healing. Also for peace during this time.

That has to be very scary, especially after reading about so many staph type cases popping up everywhere.

All the best to Don.

If I understood Don right (he was flirting with the nurses LOL) he was being released from the hospital last night, and the prognosis was for a quicker recovery than expected.
Don was genuinely touched by your responses, and hopefully we'll hear from him on our forum soon.
