$3,000.00 Platinum ticket (minimum purchase of 2) for a bunch of bands I can see for free at a bar in Boise, Idaho? My VIP tickets for Roger Clyne were a mere $120.00 each. BoomerFest continues to be a joke and is sadly shaping up to be yet another black eye for Rocky Point.

I went on the site. a one bedroom at Bella is over $300 per night. They never rent my place for that much.

Thanks to Obamacare,Bommerfest may be saved as Harvey Mandel of Canned Heat now has health insurance to help in his Cancer treatment. The show goes on!
Roberto
Somebody really ought to post to the FB page with some pointed questions about the many concert dates set and not met and some questions about the location, etc. I'm thinking people ought to spend that kind of money with all the information they can get.

Hey ABQ. When I was in the Land of Entrapment, ABQ, these guy's (Dem Bones) were one of the many very good local blues bands and my favorite. This is their last show and it must be early into it as Sean looks sober and he's not lighting his guitar on fire..

The thing I don't get about this nostalgia for the 60s from the rightwing Phoenix burb dwellers is most of them hated the hippies. Now they are all lovin the 60s!I get the creepy promoter because it might make him a buck but using the "tracks of the American chicken" (peace sign) to make a buck just seems odd coming out of a rightist Mormon stronghold...Roger might want to look into this a bit in the future before he signs with guys like this.

I personally know that many hard-core, stone cold "hippies" from back then gained wisdom and understanding over the years, and have changed their ideology, including some musicians and other celebrities from those times. Yet the proliferation of brilliant musical talent from that era is no less ingenious. So yes -- some of those 60s music lovers now look more straight laced than their history might reveal.

Once they stopped doing drugs and became your reformed wise adults why is it that almost to a man all their music started to suck?

Probably the "geezer factor." A few overcame that, but for most, not so much.

I'm not understanding why (if) Roger would associate himself with this. He's master of his own domain. His name alone would be enough to draw a good crowd as he proven time and time again. It's a risk, for sure. If Boomerfest were to go bust, it's egg on his face from his fans expecting to see him. I dunno... just vacant Monday morning mind ramblings.
mexicoruss
I like the quote from Jim Carrey I just read today..."you can fail doing things you don't want to do, you may as well try and do things you love"

No risk? no reward!
mexicoruss
Hold on the Roger thing till I get a confirm back from the crew, there seems to be some confusion
dry heat
It's actually 'Roger Jesus Carlos' that is playing. The Roger C. might have confused people. Roger Jesus Carlos plays quincenera's and birthday parties.

I have had calls for rentals at the time. I checked today and Seaside has it blocked for Boomerfest. I think I am glad I am in Oregon at that time. It sounds awful. Another place I had in RP, was really damaged by sports tournament event and all they had was a $50 damage deposit. Management has since changed I have heard but I am long gone from that property. I like to rent my place to little families that come for the beach and pool. They do not seem to do damage. I had Bella for almost 10 years and there has been very little damage. The advantage of a one dedroom.

Confirmed, RCPM management has signed to play with BoomerFest, if the concert is cancelled it has no reflection on Roger or the RCPM management, they have a contract/agreement and will perform on the date(s) they are contracted to.

It looks like this might actually happen, and if some of these bands (RCPM) actually play, it could be fun. I don't think they would have just thrown Roger's name out there if they didn't have real discussions? FWIW, Jefferson Starship actually lists it on their website, most of the others haven't yet. Probably would have been a better idea to scale it back to a two day event with a smaller price tag though. Either way, as I mentioned in another thread, seeing a Carnival Cruise ship sail into town is a much bigger pipe dream than this.

I beg to differ, I'll see that cruise ship before I would ever give this clown my money at this point. Even if it ever does happen, I could care less.

I went to the website and all I could think of was Coachelle Valley. People that allowed their condos to be rented for that weekend had some problem. I my complex, some of them were so drunk they never made it to the concerts. The did drain the pool after they all left. I could never look at the pool is the same way again. The traffic was awful. All I can think of all all those people wandering around with no one in charge. Or am I just an old kill joy? We love Oct, the weather is perfect, the ocean is warm and the crazies have all gone home.

We would go to the show but just to see Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers. But not for $225.

On one of my recent drives south I picked up an interview someone was doing with Dave Mason. The purpose of the interview was to promote a program Mason and others were doing to raise money for US military vets. Don't remember the specifics but it had something to do with donated laptops being upgraded so the vets could have internet access in order to search job sites and such. He's not a US citizen so I thought that was pretty nice that he would do that.
