Anyone who looks at the way this thing has evolved would be a fool to pre purchase a ticket, just MHO. Guy has no track record of putting on concerts that I have seen and his preplanning has been all over the place.
Anyone believe that a group would sign on to a concert without money up front??
I wouldn't think that Edgar Winter's guarantee could be anything over $2,500.00 these days. The artists that were announced tour state fairs, bars and casino lounges, they are hardly a draw to bring people to Mexico. I don't doubt that the organizers have some funds behind them, but as I have said all along, deep pockets alone will not be sufficient for a first-time promoter to buy a headline act.
Wish it was mine Terry! I only got a small piece of the pie. Fun when we're there but not often enough. Hey did you see the whales out front last week? Saw them jumping completely out of the water. What a splash when they landed.
Did they announce any artists? Is there another place or site that has info from that press conference? I had completely given up on this and actually hadn't even thought about it for a long time. I still don't believe it'll happen. As someone else mentioned the website still says nothing. They used to have a Facebook account but I don't see it but I'll dig around some more.
Well, I thought I had seen everything regarding concert prices until I got a notice from LiveNation earlier this week for a pre-sale day on tickets to see the Eagles at Jobing.com arena in October, I believe. I clicked around on some decent floor seats. $1500 each. HOLY SCHMOLY!! My jaw hit the floor and my wallet jumped out of my back pocket and ran down the hallway screaming! They had some cheaper seats... @$750 each. Even the 3rd deck nose bleed seats at the very back of the arena were ridiculously priced.
Granted, they don't tour very often and this could be their last, but for that kind of money, I could go buy gold versions of every song they've ever recorded and still have change enough left to go stand on a corner in Winslow, Arizona.
I already blocked out the dates for my condo. NOT because I want to go, but the last 2 times BoomerFest supposedly had firm dates, all the rentals companies blocked out the rooms for those dates. The dates stayed blocked out until way after we all knew the event wasn't going to happen. I don't want those dates tied up by the rental company for some stupid event that is not going to happen.
My guess is it ends up being a weekend planned like Circus Mexicus, but probably half the attendance and half the fun. Didn't they have a concert a few years back with some surviving members of 60's + 70's bands? Maybe they'll do something like that again. But obviously nothing on the scale as what was originally presented.
I guess I'm a part of this deal because I took that picture of Ric!.. Two Goldens the same day.
I wonder where they got that photo Kenny. Have you posted it anywhere? It's on Twin Dolphin's site, with permission from Ric. and you along with a link to Ric for fishing.

At the time I was shooting with a real camera and I gave Ric hard copies but I can't remember posting any one of those two photo's, even on here.

Ummmmm, someone should tell their writers that you don't "bask" in an adventure. "Basking" is for the sunshine and in the afterglow! You "embark" on an adventure !!!!!!!!!!!
It's going to be another Woodstock! I can picture 500,000 trashed & naked OLD people on Sandy Beach.! Not a pretty picture. Instead of passing around hits of acid it will be Viagra!

Boomer Fest Days 7399 E la Junta Rd Scottsdale, Arizona 85255 United States (801) 934-6274
That address is near Scottsdale and Happy Valley Roads. It's a 5,000+ square foot single-family home valued at just over $900,000 in 2012. 801 area code is the Salt Lake City area. Hmmmmm......
Mis, you beat me to it. I wanted to post a picture but Google won't let me. LOL
It looked like a really nice house, huh???? I can't believe they would actually put their home address on that. Just wait until the angry boomers come banging on their door after they didn't get their "glamping" (glamorous-camping) experience!
big house...empty life.....that grifter needs to say, grow his remaining hair long, pull it back in a ponytail and hitch hike with a dog named Boo across the Great Basin highway...maybe pick fruit and live in a hippie camp in Eastern Washington....drum circle and peyote himself out of this bad head space he has found himself in.
Since we know that they're not going to put out any money out of pocket, they'd have to have money in advance ticket sales just to give the bands a deposit. Not gonna happen. The rental company I'm with asked to block out those days so they could rent to Boomerfest. I said no.
Certainly not you Jack! You're "younger" than a lot of people I know that are chronologically younger than you! :D
Bless you my child. PS: Had breakfast with a member yesterday who said you were a really nice person. I hope we get a chance to meet so I can see if Carnac knows what he's
talking about.

Aaawwww, that Carnac, he's a great guy with a great wife. My husband and I were just saying last night that its been a long time since we've had the pleasure of their company. I'd love to meet up with you Jack. I'm sure we could have a ton of laughs over some Bloody Mary's while Roberto sips his wine.
