I also agree with several others that it is harder and harder to argue the "rocky point" is safe card. I have many friends here in Phoenix that are now asking "what do you think now". I will continue to defend Rocky Point but it becoming frustratingly difficult. I frankly wouldn't mind a huge military presence if it shuts down any violence.
No MIS, you are not the only one. That is how I read it, the entrance to Pinacate on Hiway 8. Therefore I posted on the road out. I never go to Calle Trece or Sandy Beach and had no idea there were condos named Pinacate over there. Our reading comprehension is just fine....never mind the naysayers.:aagh:
I had a friend who called me and then e-mailed me when I didn't call him back right away and begged me to come home. I could not make him understand that I felt safe. Everywhere at work today, "you aren't going back to Mexico are you? You're inapproriate term crazy, yada, yada, yada" What do I tell 'em? All they know is what they hear on the media. Surely I, who has been going there many years, doesn't know anything! I'm wrong and the media is right.....:aagh::aagh::aagh::aagh:
With the various episodes of violence (real or otherwise) over the past year....I've been a supporter...but always wary of my surroundings in Penasco.....not putting my head in the sand! I will retain judgement on this episode until more info comes out, if it ever does....was it narcos, or former cops that were fired, or something else???? It just makes me wonder since the police chief and his bodyguard were not finished off like other narco related hits I've read about????? I'm sure everyone remembers last summer's affair when the shooters followed the target to the clinic and finished him off there.
However, I do know that more of this type of violence will make me think twice before I head down.....
Joe, just do what we always do, stay out of bad areas and be watchful. Same thing I do at home. I don't go to Walmart after dark unless someone is with me. I stay home on the Mirador at night and feel it is still safe. I am going to live my life and it's gonna have to get real bad to keep me out of my beloved Puerto Penasco!:aagh:
I agree with Ladyjeeper - there are many parts of Phoenix i would never venture to especially after dark. I will really begin to worry, however, if there are daytime gun battles in public - like there are in Jaurez. That's when you can get caught in crossfire - until then, i feel just as safe there as i do at home.
To the people that are reporting there aren't military checkpoints on Mexico 8 from Sonoyta to RP, you guys must have the worst reading comprehension ever. Kenny's buddy was saying there was a military checkpoint in the Calle Trece region of RP near the Penasco Del Sol and Pinicate Condos, not on the highway. He never once mentioned checkpoints on the way to RP from Sonoyta.[/QUThere OTE]
Mexico Joe, I was the first one saying that Kenny's friends said ..... and that there where not checkpoints and let me tell you that you are confused and your reading comprehention is also as bad as you say others are, here is in the same words of kenny's friend again to refresh your memory a little bit:
"You can pass this on if you wish. There is a HUGE Federal Military stop in full operation as I write, 6/21/10 Noonish, close to the entrance to the Pinacate. Fully armed and uniformed military as reported, not Federal or local police. All vehicles are being stopped, people are required to exit the vehicle and it is carefully inspected.
I just drove up Calle 13 and was passed by a convoy of no less than 15 PP Police cars heading down toward the Hotel del Sol and Pinacate Condos. Lights no sirens. Could not see where or if they stopped. I'm heading down there now to see what I can see.
So as you can see there was no wrong reading comprehention by any of the 2 or 3 people that mention the same thing after reading Kennys post and further more the Pinacate condos are located at the dead end of the street where Penasco del Sol is located make it rediculous to have a worthless checkpoint there for the owners of the pinacate condos only!! am sorry but, the facts baby!!
Ink....I think some people were thinking the post was referring to the Pinacate Preserve....and not the condos....not everyone knows the names of some of them (isn't that next to the old Plazas Glorias???)
Come on Ink, I've seen post's where you can't get the directions to a popular motel right! The fact is, if he said there was a military check point, there was a military checkpoint. Like I said, he was just trying to get "current" info out, even though it wasn't beneficial for him to do so.
The Pinacate Condos are the ones located to the west of Penasco Del Sol Hotel right in the dead end and next to the open lot were the fair was going on or still there, I do not know.
Most people thinks of the Pinacate Preserve when some one mentions the entrance to the Pinacate, for those who do not know the older most known entrance is located just next to the Batamonte? bridge by the dangerous curve and the new entrance is located by the 73 kilometer post, just about 5 or 6 miles north of Penasco by the Sierra Blanca mountains, anyway a little fact for you brain teasers, Pinacate Preserve, is the place the USA astronauts used to train back on the 50's for the lunar landing and they did land on the moon!! do not de-rail this thread with the moon landing now!! :eek3:
The scariest will be hits at popular places, restaurants, or resorts. Take a trip to the new airport by
the Mayan Palace and watch the types who depart and from which destination. There are alot of parties
from hermosillo, mexicali, tiajuana. I can see why "The Untouchables" is a very popular tv rerun in MX.
the worst scenario historically is the Cartels overthrow the government, and a new revolution is born
again. Or the citizens take arms and overtake the cartels.

Jerry, watch it..LOL
Kenny, the argument is not whether there was or not a checkpoint but where it was/is located and to me and anybody with 2 fingers of brain putting a checkpoint in a dead end street is just not feasable, or is it?
And I think it was once I was not sure about the directions of the hotel, but I can see your memory is quick to pick the falts faster than....facts

Diva, so it is true. The airport is Open?
Can you provide a link to a Airline servicing this magnificent international airport?
The airport has been open for local and international flights since the aerodrome at the entrance of town was closed around October last year, if you go to the RPtva site, I believe they have the current schedule of flights from Hermosillo only as far as I know, I have seen the office of the airline company acroos from the last circlr K before you head to the fish market.
The customers that I took to the Mayan Lakes looked into flying there, from Tucson to Mayan airport and back the cost was around $1000 and it might take as long as 4 hours depending on how you make your flight connections, so to me it is still cheaper to use one of those shuttle services like RockyPointRides.com which takes also 4 hours and is a door to door service, no need for taxis from airport to Mayan or town.
Inks, went to a great Peruvian Restaurant and they served Tacu tacu on top of emapanizadas...
Tacu tacu, had never heard of it. Good stuff.
Yummi!!! and it is very simple, I do it when ever my wife makes beans, a couple of fried eggs on top of the tacu-tacu and a juice steak next to it, what is the frase....finger licking good!!
was the restaurant in Phoenix or Tucson, I heard that the last peruvian restaurant in Phoenix closed so I wonder if you went to the one in Tucson "Inka" by or close to Ventana Canyon Resort?
So what about the police chief? Why can't we stay on the %#$*& topic...
gwash darn it Chuck, imagine you are in the waiting room of the hospital and making conversation while we get more new from the doctors, or you forgot how it was when Bob was in the hospital?
We are pacing too, you just can see it thru the screen of the computer!! :eek3:
I know the name starts with a "C" might be Califa, I do not remember, I believe my customer mention twice a week so you are at their mercy as of when you need to fly, cost wise she said from Hermosillo to Penasco was $300 plus round trip, I think she said $375 and $600 tucson to Hermosillo, this prices are round trip, of course, after I explained my services and told her my price, needless to say, she paid right away
I'm subscribing to the theory that "no news is good news" right now. As long as it is not posted and verified that he died, there is still hope that he will pull through. I think there are a lot of us just waiting....:-(
The problem with a heightened police and military presence is that it provides a false sense of security. In fact, if it's truly a narco war, it'll actually make things worse. Just look at Juarez and other places in Mexico like Michoacan. The narcos are openly attacking the military and the police in broad daylight. That's when innocent people get caught in the crossfire.
But the conundrum is do you let the narcos take over the town and on the surface everything looks fine, and it's safe and normal? Or, do you fight the narcos and have gun battles all over the streets?
This is the problem that the entire country of Mexico is facing. Without the insatiable appetite for drugs here in the US the problem is solved - but that's never going to happen.
This article was linked on BorderReporter.com - I read it yesterday - amazing stuff.
....This is the problem that the entire country of Mexico is facing. Without the insatiable appetite for drugs here in the US the problem is solved - but that's never going to happen......
but then the argument of "well if we legalize drugs then the cartels will have to be legal and pay taxes and the whole country will be happier and the USA users will have to pay more or less and we controled for their habits and ......life goes on SAME THING, someone wants to be in control and make more money and still do it illegally!!! :blah: and we will de-railing the thread and Chuck will get upset again and ~~~HAPPY~~~ will answer ****** and again life goes on!! :eek3:

Hi MJ, I have no idea what schedule they're keeping, but indeed there has been a checkpoint on the highway between Sonoyta and Penasco near the entrance to the Pinacate reserve. My reading comprehension is usually pretty good (for example, I knew that another post warned that backed up sewage on Calle 13 could contaminate food being sold there and that the trenches being dug in the Old Port are for fiber optic wiring and not sewer lines...oops...never mind, I wrote that one). Don't know if there is another checkpoint in front of the Pinacate condos.

It's what they do...drive around in a caravan, fast...lights, no siren. Hopefully someone will give them a better gameplan.

Pete, sorry to disillusion you but I never say that, it was Kenny's friend, just to show you that my reading comprehension is good you can check it, I believe, in page 5 or 6 of this thread.
Not that I want to de-rail the thread but some people have to much time in their hands and seems that they like to put other people down with out checking the facts and make themselves look like ESTUPIDOS!!, please for those of you with schizoprenia of grandeur please leave us, little ones, alone whether it is because the little spanish we speak or how much we comprehend when reading, if there is going to be any finger pointing then stand up and do it all the way and do not back up and hide after you have been corrected, more than once I must add!! :eek3:
Ive been in RP for the past 5 days & will be back July 1-5..Ive been here since all this latest stuff has gone down. Right now RP is the same as it has always been. Tourists having a great time, beaches packed w/ tourists ( sandy beach & las conchas )..Ive talked w/ a number of locals about the shooting and they dont seem to concerned about it ( their sad about it but not really concerned )....
As far as the military check point....Thats what im totally used to when in Mexico. When I drive up and down the baja as i do regularly i pass thru military check points frequently. I cant believe they never had them before around RP. Yes it does feel strange the first time or 2 that you go thru them but they are there for your saftey. They have had many of these check points all over Mexico for years and years to check for drugs and guns. The soilders look intimidating but they are actually very nice.
I say put up a military stop 24/7 on both highways into RP....
40 people were just killed in Chicago in one weekend... a family in CA was gunned down in a Taco Bell.......until tourists are being killed in RP I'm not going to panic...........See you at the beach

Methinks you watch too much TV. The fact that people are flying in from those cities is that Aereo Calafia now offers flights between those cities and Puerto Penasco. "The Untouchables"? Most Mexicans watch novelas, sports or the news/news magazines, followed by game shows in popularity. Please explain how "historically" the cartels might overthrow the government. And do you really envision families taking up arms and overtaking the cartels? Buying arms with what...grocery money? Oy vey.

private charters and helicopter rides ... yes .
Commercial schedule? I still need to see it to believe it.
Airport code: PPE
Fly from TUC to Monterrey, then Hermosillo and then once a month schedule to PPE?
Have heard of Hermosillo to PPE but no one can confirm it and by what airline.
It is still private charters as far as I know.
Hey Wahoo, you can consider it confirmed. The reason the rate is so high, as Inks pointed out above, is that one must fly into Hermosillo on an international flight from Phx or Tucson. From there, you take Aereo Calafia, which flies Hermosillo - Penasco. No doubt we'll have international flights sooner rather than later. The hangup is money. The airlines request guaranteed seats filled and if they aren't the difference would be paid by the State and Municipal governments as well as the private sector. As most people don't have much money right now, there hasn't been much support for the program.
My guess is that an agreement will be reached (hopefully) this year.
Because a certain someone here has recently said (although they ran to another forum to say it) that I'm not a "legitimate news source", the Aereo Calafia rates and schedules are available on the TVA website at www.tourismrockypoint.com
I'm subscribing to the theory that "no news is good news" right now. As long as it is not posted and verified that he died, there is still hope that he will pull through. I think there are a lot of us just waiting....:-(
Word has it that he rallied for a little and even opened his eyes. Is still critical and isn't what you would call conscious. No more than that right now.

Oh no, no problem what so ever, I was not meaning you in my previous post, you always come back and stand your ground or back up your posts or at least it seems that way, I was refereing to another person, which is not beggie for me either it just seems rude to put others down and then when his/her turn come to answer nothing come out in responce, and you know what they say....:eek3:
Maybe the police chief in Penasco was doing rounds because of the possible narco violence killings in Sonoyta the day before and the jeep/jeeps were seen driving toward Penasco following the shootings. I think the police needed all hands on deck and every officer looking for the jeeps, so that may account for the chief of police out at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
I agree with Miramar on this. It doesn't seem far-fetched that a police chief would make the rounds before calling it a day. That it was so late at night isn't unusual when you consider that I've seen him at meetings that don't end until after 10pm.
Let's thank EVERY police officer and Federale for the incredibly brave work they're doing. My prayers are with the chief, his family, and the citizens of Penasco.
"The PP chief of police was eating in a local restaurant with his bodyguard when he got a call about 10:30 or so and left the restaurant after getting the call. He was shot after leaving the restaurant, but not near the restaurant"
No, I will not tell you the name of the restaurant.
Dwag, all I know is that Ramon Figueroa turns into Rio Suchiate, runs west to east and it is 4 blocks south of Samuel Ocana, now the only question is Rio Suchiate is the same as Suchiate Blvd as mention in post #1 by Rosie and since I do not eat bread as in Bimbo bread I could not tell you where the warehouse is located, I rather have bolillos or tortillas but never pan de molde Bimbo!!
The first stop light you hit as you come into PP the road that goes to the left (to Las Conchas) is Josepha de Ortiz the next stop sign past the gas station DB market is Rio Suchiate. Go left about 1/2 mile Pan Bimbo will be on your left.
As you all know by now, Rocky Point Police Chief Erick Landagaray is currently recuperating from injuries sustained in an assault. Erick Landagaray is a friend, a neighbor and a consummate professional in his field.
A tragedy like this is traumatic for any community, and even more so when the community is as accustomed to a tranquil and safe environment as we are here in Puerto Penasco. Of course those of us in the business community want to do all that we can to promote tourism and motivate people to come and visit us in this beautiful place we love, but make no mistake, we also want our visitors to have a safe and happy experience.
It is for this reason that we remind you that our most important task is that of informing and assisting the public; whether it is about local events, where the best prices can be found or even why there is increased police presence in town.
None of this need affect our daily routines. It also need not rearrange your travel plans. Rest assured that all that can be done, is being done. Anyone who lives here can tell you that life continues to be peaceful and productive.
Puerto Penasco is enjoying a successful tourist season and we expect that to continue. The Roger Clyne concert was a huge success, with almost 4,000 people attending. The Jenni Rivera concert also had a turnout of about 3,500. The Miss Sonora Pageant had well over 2,000 attendees and was broadcast on national television, and the National Association of Realtors just wrapped up their very important CIPS training for Realtors who came from from all parts of both countries. This week, the National Basketball Championship is being hosted in Puerto Penasco and is also being broadcast throughout Latin America!
I ask that you do your part. Support your fellow TVA members. Golf at Las Palomas this weekend, go out to dinner at a member restaurant, stop and have a drink with your neighbors. Rent a kayak or a jet ski. Go fishing. Have fun while you enjoy our extraordinary weather.
And remember, if we can be of service to your clients and friends, or to you, do not hesitate to contact us.
We are thankful that Erick is recovering and will continue to hold him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.
I was thinking it might be a good thing to set up a online fund to buy the cops some bullet proof vests........I have 50 bucks to get it going...some of you cop types might even be able to get some last years models cheap az you can give mardi gra beads if you are a little short of cash this summer!
if they have vests lets set up Amazon gift cards for the chief and body guard (maybe mailed to rosy's P. Box in Lukeville...hell laying around in a hospital it might be fun to buy some crap on line.
HEY INK, I hope you are talking about me because Im ready to do this like the shootout at the OK Corral. Here we go, lets review the quote.
You can pass this on if you wish. There is a HUGE Federal Military stop in full operation as I write, 6/21/10 Noonish, close to the entrance to the Pinacate. First of all, let me explain why I didnt reply to your re-attack. Im laying in the hospital with a broken back and the least of my concerns is arguing with you. On a day to day basis I awake at 730 am here at St Joes and do physical therapy till 300pm in the afternoon. Now, Im not going to lie, when I saw the comment about no worries your not the person I was referring to its someone else that has the fortitude to say something to somebody and then not respond. I immediately knew you were talking about me. I suddenly had this new found energy to put my hand on my D#$% and grab it hard, sack up and tell you that you have no arguement. This leads me to say HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE weeeeeeeee GOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Let me break down the quote for you. Kenny's friend said, "... Noonish, close to the entrance to the Pinacate". Furthermore, Kenny's friend goes on to say, " I just drove up Calle 13 and was passed by a convoy of no less than 15 PP Police cars heading down toward the Hotel del Sol and Pinacate Condos. Lights no sirens. Could not see where or if they stopped. I'm heading down there now to see what I can see". OK INKS, now this is the extremely hard part for me but its fact. I ASSUMED because nowhere does Kenny's friend say PINICATE RESERVE, furthermore he goes on to talk about being near the PINICATE CONDOS and CALLE TRECE. I ASSOCIATED the word PINICATE with the WORDS PINICATE CONDOS and CALLE TRECE, which is how I came up with my ASSUMPTION. Now that being said, you also HAVE MADE AN ASSUMPTION because nowhere does Kenny's friend say PINICATE RESERVE. So likewise you ASSUMED or ASSOCIATED THE WORD PINICATE in your case with PINICATE RESERVE. If you can admitt like I have admitted that you used an ASSUMPTION TO COME TO A CONCLUSION then we wont have any problems. If you admitt that nowhere in that quote is any factual information that says Pinicate Reserve than we are cool. Comprende?

Now, that sounds more like you are trying to say, that I assumed something, when, what I did, was deduce, since Condos Pinacate are located in a dead end there is no point in having a checkpoint there, so the checkpoint he is talking about must be by the entrance of La reserva del Pinacate
If you can admitt like I have admitted that you used an ASSUMPTION TO COME TO A CONCLUSION
then we wont have any problems.
I am sorry if you used an assumtion to get to your responce, yo use deduccion and I plea the fifth!!
If you admitt that nowhere in that quote is any factual information that says Pinicate Reserve than we are cool.
I do have to admit there is no factual imformation at all in that statement when it comes to mentioning that the checkpoint was located at the entrance of La Reserva el Pinacate.
However, as you mention you assumed I did not comprehend what I was reading to start with, or the others for that matter,
MJ post #95: To the people that are reporting there aren't military checkpoints on Mexico 8 from Sonoyta to RP, you guys must have the worst reading comprehension ever.
Now, that is what got me tinking!!!!! Kenny's buddy was saying there was a military checkpoint in the Calle Trece region of RP near the Penasco Del Sol and Pinicate Condos, not on the highway. He never once mentioned checkpoints on the way to RP from Sonoyta.
hhhmmm!! now you are stating that the checkpoint is located in Condos Pinacate!! for sure when what he said was : " I just drove up Calle 13 and was passed by a convoy of no less than 15 PP Police cars heading down toward the Hotel del Sol and Pinacate Condos. Lights no sirens."
how much do you comprehend yourself or are you reading too much into it?
Comprende!! what a coinsidence they spell the same!! :eek3:
Comprende?
However I would like to let you know that you are getting upset because of your on thought and what you are reading and conprehending from my post, you are taking it personal!!
MJ, I was trying to go to sleep with no success, because there was something bugging me, then I remember, with the chief police in mind I forgot one of the reasons of why I deduce that the checkpoint was in La Reserva del Pinacate, It was Friday when the checkpoint post came to us as message thru Kenny by one of his friends.
The murders in Sonoyta took place before Friday, so the most logical place will be by the entrance of La Reserva instead of Condos Pinacate
I'll try again.

Most people thought it was the Reserve...no harm no foul not even a yellow card!
The checkpoint was at the Reserve. Aside from the checkpoint, there was a caravan of PEI vehicles making the rounds and they did go by the Pinacate condos.
MexicoJoe, I just want to clarify one thing and hopefully that will make you see thing from a different perpective.
When I said the comment about a particular person not reponding, was not you at all and the person I am talking about most probably knows and got the message and still has not respond to what was asked, unfortunatelly you misunderstood the message that was not for you and in my case I must say it could have been a little misleading and got you confused because where it was located.
What bothered me was the way in which you presented tha fact that I do not comprehen when reading, which lead me to believe that you read the post and did not gave it a second thought, or might be that I am familiar with the area and realized that a checkpoint in one of the places as you thought might not be proper.
You seem to think that it is a joke for someone to use reasoning to arrive to a conclussion, I tent to believe that I have good common sense and assuming or taking for granted things is not the way I like do things, although I have been known for trying to bring back "memories", No, Rosie?
I have joked with the best and I've been joked by the best, however I am still here and try not to trip in the same rock twice and I did mean it when I say that hopefully when be meet we laugh with each other!! :eek3: the same way I meant it when I say for you to have a speedy recovery!!
You talking bout Kenny Inka. The check point is set up around a curve most of the time this time the check point was set up by the entrance to the pinacate Reserve. When people talk about the pinacate they mean the reserve.
All I did was post a simple report of what was happening that day, and approximately where it was happenig and approximately at what time. What became of that is beyond my understanding, but I'm sure Rosie gets it all the time.
How could it be me dog? I've never ducked a question yet if I've noticed it. Maybe I have if it was so off the wall it didn't deserve a answer, like some of yours. You know you always get in trouble when you start throwing my name around like you have the last few days. Are you looking for trouble dog?
I jumped in here a little late but you all sound like your married to each other....LOL. It is good to hear that the chief is doing better. Are prayers are with him!
So was this attack related to the RP incident? If so what does it mean.....Some think PAN needs to do a house cleaning of members with mixed loyalties.

Are you asking if what happened in Tubutama is related to Penasco? I seriously doubt it. There is so reason to think they might be related. A source within the police department says that the police chief and his guard were attempting to pull over a vehicle fitting the description of the one used the previous day in Sonoyta, and were caught unawares by a hail of gunshots. This is the most credible version of events thusfar.
Tubutama is a town about 4 hours away from Penasco, in the Altar region.
The chief himself out patrolling at 11pm just seemed weird. It seems he was put between a rock and a hard place.

Remember that the previous day there had been a shooting in Sonoyta and a well-known person from Penasco was killed. Everyone here was on high alert. Erick, frequently in meetings well into the night, was in the habit of making a round before calling it a day.

See Rosy....that type of information makes a question or two of mine go away. I don't expect the chief of police, no matter how small a town, to be making rounds at 10-11pm!

Glad that helped. By the way, don't you feel like asking anything else? Maybe something about beer sales...you know...sometime soon? My time is running low and Terry C is paying attention!
The state attorney's office spokesman Jose Larrinaga Talamante, said the slain police chief is Jose Duarte Israel Inigo, 40, brother of the local deputy of the National Action Party (PAN) Reginaldo Duarte Inigo.
He explained that the name of the person executed is Siqueiros Lauro Guzman, 40. Were killed outside a residence located off the main square of the town of Divisaderos at 22:30 pm yesterday by individuals who fired at them from a pick up late model Chevrolet.
(I Google police chief Killied in Mexico, to find information on the Police Chief, this is sad way to intimidate)
Do I need a passport to by mexican insurance from you Rosie??
Hahaha...you're great, Julie! You can buy Mexico insurance from me without a passport. You can buy it right online and when you get here, I promise it won't be a dry weekend!

The person killed (on Tuesday, not yesterday) was not a local police chief, but rather regional head of the State Investigative Police and the brother of a local State Representative for the PAN. Divisaderos is a small town in the eastern part of Sonora, the second-largest state in Mexico. This happened far from Penasco and shares no similarities with anything happening here, so am at a loss as to the connection here.

No Rosy....I know better....if there is no election, then liquor sales will be as normal!!! Plus, I think I still have enough of a stockpile in my trailer for any short term contingency!
BTW, I have to get on your insurance site....my insurance policy expires the end of the week..........mine is with one of companies that you carry....is there any way to transfer all my info (it's still on another website that I bought from) without entering all of the registration info manually? Sorry for the Off Topic.....

Nope. You'll have to re-enter the info, but remember that by doing so you're donating to two local charities. By the way, Mark...gotta get with you next week.
One step ahead of you Rosie....................I had just finished purchasing my policy from you when I posted that, LOL!!! Are you going to be in your office Wednesday or Thursday at any time?? I'd like to stop by and talk to you about something. Glad to hear the chief is stable, btw.

Thank you, Julie. I'll be in the Visitor Assistance office both days after 11am. Look forward to seeing you again. FastEddy dropped by the other day and I missed him, but he got to meet Mariadela in my office.
Rosy, sorry if it is off topic, but to me Rocky Point is in Sonora and a Police Chief had an attempted assassination. (Not sure what else you can call it). Jose Duarte Israel was also a "Chief of Police" (PEI) and in Sonora. Two heads of Police, Tuesday, not Wednesday??? What is your point? I Love your town, and I am concerned and do not understand the AK-47 gangs that have infiltrated.
Unfortunately this head of Police assassination was successfully along with Lauro Guzmán Siqueiros that was also killed along with the chief. Just sounded so similar to the two attempted murders in Rocky Point, SON. Lucky for Landagaray and his body guard they are still with us. Israel and Siqueiros are not.
If you do not see a connection to the terror on public servants by an evil elements in Sonora as I do, I suggest you are raise your blinders.
I suggest it is best to keep ALL information on the Police Chief as a private and OFF TOPIC as possible.
Posting that he is still good to go you inform whomever $$$ still out for his head . This is not good information as much as I know you want to advice and celebrate his stable health.
One attempt failed the next the outcome might not be the same. Like Stuart posted, it is best to believe the attempt was successfully or a new attempt might be forth coming. I have no idea why this was done, but the order was given and until it is accomplished he is a target for someone, who knows why and better not to speculate.
