The Homeport...A reason a week it is a bad idea

We were driving to Miramar last weekend and got in about 10:30 PM. The cement plant on the Caborca Highway close to the turn, Gocasa, was loading cement trucks and mixing cement- they're working on something through all hours of the day and night.

    Vaquita conservation

In late January I wrote: " I saw last weekend what looked like a red tide, but then it went away with the higher waves. I say red tide because the sea was so blue, but the dark area looked more reddish in color. Also there were more dead birds (mostly small) on shore. " We've spent the last...

    News From Caborca

I don't think Russ is planning a trip to Y-Griega, but I hope some day to go on one of his trips to Baja to see the whales, Copper Canyon or Alamos. Hopefully I won't have blue hair by then.

    Los Tiburones Schedule 2015

The owner of El Serape, Abel Acosta, is a baseball fan. So when Dominican baseball players are having problems getting into the states, paperwork, etc, he helps them out in Sonoyta. We've met players from Boston Redsox and other teams as well. Abel is one of the reasons we love Mexico- a truly...

    Los Tiburones Schedule 2015

We were at our favorite taco stand in Sonoyta, El Serape, with our son- in-law from the Dominican Republic, when a 6'4 broad shouldered man came up to talk with him. He also was from the DR, played baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers and got hurt. Now he plays for the Penasco Tiburones, so...

    PHX - RP Flights!

I think it's great they have flights, but even if we lived in Phoenix, we would drive. My hubby used to fly, and we learned unless the trip is over 8 hours to drive, it doesn't save time flying. But I hope it's a success!

    Mermaids Blog

Sorry we missed it- it looked like fun. And I enjoyed seeing all the young girls walking around Penasco in their hula skirts. They obviously had just danced at the Pirate & Mermaid festival.

    Taco Brisas

I haven't been to Tacos Brisas in a while and we thought it was pretty good but last year on several people's recommendation we tried Tacos Poblanos and found it much better. Maybe time for another throw down between the two.
