queen, I don't know you, but I have read your posts. I DO know Inka, and he's a fine man, one I'm proud to consider a friend. My bet is on Inka in the smarter than you contest.

    Short cut in Sonoita

the right turn after the big bridge is a good traffic diversion. It's all concrete now, and a smooth way to avoid the congestion. Just go slow.....

    Worth a read

I'm not sure how anyone can be on the fence at this time, seems the choice gets more clear with each lie.

    Worth a read

speaking of "worth a read" - I read this and thought it explained a lot of the discourse: https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/07/role-cognitive-dissonance-pandemic/614074/

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

I didn't pay attention to Tonto National Forest closure - drove up Thursday, and saw the closures - shoot! Went a bit further to Willow Springs, a pretty day at 64 degrees, but the parking lots nearly full - boats, kayaks, paddle boards, kids and dogs...... Stayed for a bit enjoying the view...

    I love the woods too.

Sounds nice. we've explored some of the Gila in NM, enjoyed our trips up and past Snow Lake area. We like driving on the quiet dirt roads, with little traffic and development. Some areas here in Az are fun to explore, but getting harder to get to places to avoid others who have little respect...

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

It looks like we won't be driving down anytime soon. Maybe this mess will start to ease up by Thanksgiving, otherwise it'll be 2021 sometime for us. Crazy people all over, fighting about wearing a mask. Time for another trip into the mountains....

Who was here in the beginning?

I'm not sure if it was 2007 or 2008, it was here that I found azbeachboys post about their Thanksgiving potluck, and got an ok for us to join them. Met a lot of fine people that weekend, with Kenny ending the weekend dropping off some nice filets for us before we left to go home. Been a repeat...

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

Queen + Steve, You really should pay better attention to sources other than OANN or QAnon , and to whatever you pray to - get on your knees and pray the virus doesn't get you or your family. Your denial won't stop this virus.

    Fishing withdrawal

We took the drive up 87 yesterday on way to do a bit of fishing - the Bush Fire burn is as extensive and horrible as it looked on TV. Was curious about 4 peaks road, but ALL Tonto NF roads closed. For anyone travelling north on 87, give yourself about 15-20 minutes extra time to get past 188 -...

Looks like lock down will continue for awhile

Groupo Modelo (Pacifico, Corona, Modelo) was fully bought by AB/INBev a few years ago. It's like the Coke/Pepsi thing, all about the deals. If you only carry one line, they get a better price. Higher-end bars/restaurants usually carry them both, but not always. We agree, Modelo Especial is our...

    Fishing withdrawal

And after asking my wife, she thinks it was 20+ years ago since were there last. I do remember being able to drive and park pretty close to the river. We're heading back up to both Tonto and Christopher Creeks Tuesday, temps are going to be lower for a few days then, we can get a nice half day...

    Fishing withdrawal

broken - we fished that same stretch years ago - wading in waist deep and casting chartreuse twin tails, lots of 1-2lb bass - tons of fun. Now that Hwy 87 is open, probably head back to the creeks just off the rim early next week - temperatures expected to drop nicely for a few days.

Good luck Kenny, we're taking a vacation away from all things Mexico for 6 months - have a great summer, be safe, stay healthy.

    Sanitary barriers in other locations?

Hwy 87 still closed, looks like it will be for more than a few days right now. Hoping folks don't lose everything along 188 - Jakes corner thru Tonto Basin, Punkin Center, etc. Gisela is getting notice to leave. Damn.
