    Leaving the free zone

Hi- I knew about the importada permit for a car if you're traveling past the free zone, and I got that, but RP Times says you have to have your FM3 stamped too, anyone confirm that? We're driving down to Alamos next week, and want to be legal!

Hate to say it, but I'm new here and looking for a place to rent in June.

Hi- My friends said they don't really want to rent. However, they know of another place: Casa de Escuela on Mirador beach for $600 a week. (maybe you could negotiate lower for a month). They say: The place is owned by a couple from Vancouver, but as far as we can tell, it's managed by a guy...

Anyone heard of "naturalizing" your vehicle?

Thanks, all. Last time I went to the border and asked about importing my ten year old rust bucket, they said it would cost me $3000 US!

Anyone heard of "naturalizing" your vehicle?

I read on another site: Cars that are 10 years old or older can be naturalized in Mexico and you do not have to pay much. That was here: http://en.allexperts.com/q/Mexico-82/2008/1/Buying-car-Mexico.htm Does anyone know anything about this? Our car is 12 years old, this might be a good thing...

Hate to say it, but I'm new here and looking for a place to rent in June.

Hi, Rebecca, If you don't mind being a 15 minute walk to the beach, I have friends with a nice condo in the Mirador. They won't be here in June, I don't know if they're interested in renting or not. Only thing missing from your list is TV and satellite. They say a book or a game are lovely...

    How are the roads?

Drove up to Phoenix Friday morning and there were a number of places where the road was filled with debris; rocks, sand and branches. Roads in US were ok. Coming back tonight, everything's pretty much cleared up, there are just some sandy patches on the Mexican side.

Hey, Stuart, when's the best time for seeing the desert in bloom? It's a sight I'd love to see this year!

For those that currently don't, would you if you could?

We've lived here for over a year now, and we too are in town. Our neighbors have become friends, we know many wonderful Mexicans, and we find we don't miss anything! For a while I had a jones on for cheddar and feta cheeses, but now I have no trouble with that. I love cooking with the local...
