    Snake Season....heads down!

J: Those are some nice specimens. I once saw picture taken in the early 1900's of an Indian women somewhere in Sonoran cleaning about a dozen rattlesnakes for the family dinner.

    Toy friendly neighborhoods

Were the kayakers stoned before or after they were stoned?

    Toy friendly neighborhoods

I agree. I tried to impress upon them the dangers regarding the weather, lack of water and the terrain not mention the likely bad guys they will encounter.

    Toy friendly neighborhoods

We used to ride from Cholla unimpeded across sandy beach to eat Chinese food at El Senorial Hotel and restaurant and get up the next morning and ride for miles north of Black mountain. When I first bought in Miramar the last 4-5 miles of the beach were not used (where the Mayan rests now) and...

    Cholla bay ....what a tale!

J: I once saw Gus Brown's plan to do this 30 years ago. The large tidal movement and the sandy bottom would make me a non-investor.

    Coconut palms on RP beaches?

I have two plumerias growing in Phoenix that were my daughters 5th grade science experiment 15 years ago. In my experience Plemerias need protection from the frost and a lot of water.

good stuff if you are interested in Sonora history

In the Hornaday book they chronicle the sheep that were in the Pinacate region, sadly I think they killed most of them.

good stuff if you are interested in Sonora history

J: I believe the old Sonoita to RP dirtbike reace used the road you are describing. Pretty darn desolate out there. A good book to read about the Pinacate region is -Campfires on Desert & Lava- by Hornaday. https://www.amazon.com/Camp-fires-Desert-William-Temple-Hornaday/dp/0857921231

    Shell Beach

We used to ride to a small estuary north of Cholla about five miles. The shells were 5-7 feet deep in piles when the estuary ran out and made a river. I'll never forget it.

    Ugly Americans at sea....Baja Story

I can't see how the oceans wil keep up with the overfishing from the commercial rigs. I would like to see large swaths of the ocean be designated as off limits to commercial fishing and then make sure the law is enforced.

Todays Gas Price Rise....and us because it's all about us

Is the "old beach route" the same route we used to get to El Golfo before the highway went in?

    Recent Activity page

Actually, with the nonsense being posted and recently dominant I prefer the recent activity page to stay the way it is. I miss it but the children posting have ruined it.

The Elephant in the Room...THE WALL

Yeah, Stewart, just WHERE did you find these lowlifes? Thank god you shut down the recent activity feed so I don't have to view these new member posts that have absolutely NOTHING to do with the Mexico experience.

    Good News on El Homeport

Mexico needs a small business loan program. The problem is that the historical lack of land or home ownership and title leaves little for collateral.

Todays Gas Price Rise....and us because it's all about us

I would prefer that people pay for their own train rides, bike lanes and especially their own day care but the walking part is good.

Except the price of fuel in Europe is radically priced higher due to onerouss taxes and government regulation.

    Rocky Point Residents

I would guess your friends are on Ejido land if they are paying monthly and if they are it is a tenuous situation at best. The Ejidos will break all contracts and kick anyone down the road for the first person who offers them an extra dollar.

El Pescadore sounds great, especially with all of the fresh water they have. There is a nice development in El Rosario that I would like to return to. I once signed a deed in a bar in Ensenada and the Notario looked gangsta/narco. This was my first [though not my last] unpleasant experience in...

    Rocky Point Residents

The west coast of Baja is incredible with its San Diego type weather. There are not many gringo oriented places but I fell in love with San Juanico and also liked San Quintin.
