    Shooting in Penasco

Yuck...don't let it just hang there, Dude...wipe your nose! I took the day off to go jet-skiing yesterday. Haven't been back online until today. What's your point? Oh, nevermind, it's you...point not included.

    Shooting in Penasco

LOL! I'd already corrected my error, Dud...I mean, Dude. I read and write two languages fluently and still struggle to understand anything you post. The day I need "reporting" lessons from you is a day I turn in my Press badge.

Sorry, Audsley. My mistake. It was indeed Raul, I was thinking Ramon...who is in prison.

    Wanted good used transportation

The primary intent of the law is to punish tax evaders. There are fewer stolen cars living down here than there are cars that have simply avoided the importation tax. I have a problem with your earlier comment that this is all a government ploy to confiscate your nice cars. The Mexican...

    Wanted good used transportation

Great info, Russ. The only thing I need to add here is that local police can also enforce the law and import a US registered vehicle if a Mexican national is found to be driving it without the owner in the car. Because they're enforcing what is seen as a tax law, municipal cops don't often...

    Shooting in Penasco

These were State cops, so I think they have 'em. Joe, Jerry's neighborhood is a little safer now. One of the dead has been identified as Ramon 'El Negro' Sabori.

    Shooting in Penasco

Here's all I can tell right now: A band of bad guys from out of town (Caborca) have been rumored to be behind some recent thievery in Penasco. Yesterday officers attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle and they were shot at. A chase ensued. Rumors of a wounded or killed officer haven't been...

    Declaring merchandise going into Mexico

LOL! In addition to not scrolling down to read the entire pdf file, I jumped to the same mistaken conclusion...that we were discussing paying taxes. Doh! here it is quitting time and the little light bulb over my head is just now lighting up? Geez... You're right, Roberto. Maybe I've had a...

    Declaring merchandise going into Mexico

Sorry, I obviously didn't scroll down to read the rest. I thought the tax rate was 17%, so I was wrong there, too.

    Declaring merchandise going into Mexico

What I saw there says the $300 (note that it isn't $3000, but yours might just be a typo) limit is for those entering Mexico via air or sea. People crossing into the country by land are limited to $75 usd unless it's a holiday season.

Why are we letting people put things on here that will scare away tourist?

Okay, if I had been the person injured...or a friend of mine were injured on the slide and I wanted to ask for medical expenses to be reimbursed, I'd go home and write a letter requesting it. What I certainly wouldn't do is walk up to the Sales Director for the resort, demand payment and then...

    Playa Inn

I haven't stayed there or seen the rooms, but did book some basketball players there a couple of weeks ago. It's now the Hotel Grand Hacienda. They paid $50 usd per night and said they were comfortable. The food in the restaurant is good, the pool is in working order and the bar is friendly...

Yes, parts of Babel were filmed in Penasco and a few American residents here were given bit parts. Tina Elliot played an immigration official. There were others, but that's the only one I can recall.
