    BoomerFest Update

Well, I thought I had seen everything regarding concert prices until I got a notice from LiveNation earlier this week for a pre-sale day on tickets to see the Eagles at Jobing.com arena in October, I believe. I clicked around on some decent floor seats. $1500 each. HOLY SCHMOLY!! My jaw hit the...

    Earthquake

Overall, I'm inclined to agree with you. I think the concern was over the pressure that seems to be building along the entire fault line at the moment. When you look at the amount of total earthquake activity within the past month or so, there's been quite a bit. And as things move around and...

    Earthquake

No kidding! From Chile all the way up the coast into Cali. Article in the paper this morning says they are fearing "the Big One" in Cali after the strong quakes and numerous after shocks this week -- they said it's from a fault that runs perpendicular to the San Andreas fault. On the bright...

14-15mph wind this weekend -- too much?

Audsley - It's one of those "any given day" things. May be that you're fine in the morning; you'll have to pays your money and takes your chances! Even with some wind, you may be able to fish south because the point provides some protection from the wind and it's a bit more sheltered in that...

14-15mph wind this weekend -- too much?

You should wait. There's more than the weekend forecast to consider. It's going to be blowing consistently 10-20 from today through the next several days, primarily out of the NW. If it were just one day, the seas would have a chance to lay down overnight. They are going to be easy 2-4 ft...

    High tides this weekend

Welcome to Penasco fishing! (as if you need an introduction) :D Basically 10-20 mph for the next week from what I see. Enough to make it non-stop miserable and that's just Casa Weez forecast -- I'm sure it will be blowing stronger than that offshore. Looks like I'm heading down over Easter...

    High tides this weekend

I pull out my tide calendar and decide which weekend will have the LEAST tides (1st qtr., last qtr. moon). But, that's because I fish deeper water. I don't think it affects you shallow water inshore guys as much. On a big high tide, you nearly need to tie an anchor to your line to get it down...

    Puerto Penasco Home Port

Yes and no. Sonoyta can be a complete logjam at times. Especially American holiday weekends. I haven't seen the plans for the bypass, so I don't know what the true option is that's being considered. However, consider the truck traffic through town alone. I see two possible scenarios here: 1)...

    Flashback on The Nautical Ladder

Interesting. I said then the likelihood of it becoming reality was waaaaaay too ambitious. As a boater, I liked the idea, but knew in my heart of hearts it was simply another Liberty Cove piss-in-the-wind project. You have to wonder whatever became of all the dollars (pesos) that were pledged...

    Earthquake???

Earthquake season! It's that time of year, I guess. Seems just a year or two ago there was a sizable one same time frame, right around Easter, centered more towards Mexicali. Had some good pictures of that one with the road split and the dust shaking off the mountains. Felt by quite a few folks.

March 15 - Smacking the hell-o out of the yellows....

Sweet! I hate to say this, but Dave attracts sea lions like dog poop attracts flies! Same thing has happened on my boat multiple times. They always go after Dave's fish! o_O I need some bendo. Soon...

    Bad News Thread

Remind me to bring my Mossberg (00 buckshot) and Sig when I come to visit you, k? :D With the smugglers and the killer javelina you have around, why don't YOU have a gun? Would hate to read a Krentz story about you while you're poking around on the ranch. (said VERY seriously)

Nobody mentioning this? 7 bodies found outside Sonoyta... AR-15 shell casings found. Calling it an "ambush." http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/nation/2014/03/21/mexico-border-drug-deaths/6705691/

    Allergies

Ever since the nice rain last week, I feel your pain! EVERYTHING is blooming.!I'm normally not allergic to anything, but the sheer pollen load in the air has had me sneezing and congested with a runny nose. I suppose sitting on the back patio in the evening and smelling all the wonderful citrus...

My first thought would be the new AutoZone - they should have a good selection of batteries at a reasonable price.
