    Homicide in Encanto

I live very close to where this happened and in fact just went by the house. It was not a break in or burglary. All evidence points to someone waiting for her. This was definitely not a crime of opportunity, but was planned.

    Lukeville border Crossing

We had some friends just crossed at San Luis. They said it was about a 35 minute wait

    Lukeville border Crossing

I am trying to figure this out. You adamantly state that the borders are a federal government issue (I happen to agree) then you slam Hobbs, who is a governor, after you implied states can't do anything. I agree this whole thing is a mess, but many of your posts feel like you close your eyes and...

    Lukeville border Crossing

The CPB is down about 2000 agents (that's 80,000 man hours of work each week). The funding is tied up in congress and being as objective as I can be it appears neither side is really interested in moving things forward because border funding creates great publicity for them and if the border...

    Lukeville border Crossing

I travel to Mexicali along hwy 2 fairly often. There are no more safety concerns than driving from Penasco to Sonoyta.

Bad place to be a cop...hugs, not bullets!

I’m pretty sure Melanie knows. Hers is an economic relationship based on what the people who have worked for her say.

    Peso stuff

Yesterday at Banorte I got 17.18 and at that moment the mid market rate (what you see as the exchange rate on line) was 17.21. The mid market rate had been falling and the rates at the ATM's only update a couple times a day so this time it worked in my favor.

    Lending to Mexicans?

We have followed that some rule for a long time. We only lend what we are willing to lose. A lot less stress that way.

    Puerto Penasco desalination plant

The reason I know is that I am a small part of a private group looking into this. If there is another plant that is operational it hasn't gotten a permit from the city for sure. I was it were true though. Our neighborhood had at least two small desal 'plants' that each served 4 or 5 houses. One...

    Puerto Penasco desalination plant

As of today, other than small private desal “plants” that have the capacity to supply a few houses, there are no large scale desal plants in Penasco. There had been one under construction in Las Conchas a number of years ago but it never came on line.

Why is our Border wide open ?

Just so I under Well thank you for your source and I see now why you posted them. As I mentioned, I get my information on immigration from the CPB.

Why is our Border wide open ?

Larry. I understand your point of view and whether or not I happen to agree with it is irrelevant since it’s your opinion. One thing really gets to me though is your “facts” and the “statistics” you quote. They don’t align with what the CBP publishes. When your numbers are so far off it...

    Norma is coming over

If you look at the info on the National Hurricane Center it doesn't seem like Normal will get this far north with any force. I cannot find any long range forecasts that show rain here. https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_ep2+shtml/201822.shtml?gm_track

Do I show my temporary residence visa when crossing border?

It is highly unlikely you will be asked for either when entering Mexico. When going back to the US you’ll show your passport.

    Border Line

I just had a friend text us saying they were stuck in that same line. I am trying to figure out why so busy for a Thursday. My guess is a lot of elementary schools are out for Fall Break, but other than that guess I have no idea.

Is Mannys doing well, or in death spiral?

I don't know why but I kept thinking about shrinkage. With each order from the bar or kitchen the server has to submit a receipt, then the food or drink is given to them. At the end of the customers visit the money given to the cashier needs to match the receipt totals and this is all reconciled...

Is Mannys doing well, or in death spiral?

Manny’s, like Wrecked and a number of other places is focused on the tourist dollar. Prices are based on what tourists are willing to pay and if you go to Manny’s on a weekend there doesn’t seem to be a lack of business. The folks running Manny’s run 5 popular restaurants in Penasco so clearly...
