    This doesn't help tourism!

It’s upstairs in the building immediately adjacent to Chef Mickey’s.

    This doesn't help tourism!

I know a dual citizen with a less severe but similar problem involving unimproved land in another development. He decided that getting an attorney out of San Luis Rio Colorado might move him forward, but a local attorney wasn’t a good plan.

    August border crossing.

I lived an hour from Houston for 14 years. I know age is a factor but Puerto Peñasco in August is debilitating.

    Gasoline Shortage in Puerto Peñasco

Pemex on Benito Juarez by Autozone had premium but not regular. Pemex at windmills had regular but not premium.

    Gasoline Shortage in Puerto Peñasco

Pemex at the windmills got a light delivery this morning. I was able to fill the Ranger but they weren’t going to be in business for long. Speculation is that gringos leaving town on Sunday (there were a lot) all filled up because gas was cheap, and this cratered supply. Not sure how it’s...

    Gasoline Shortage in Puerto Peñasco

Our neighbors just went to the windmill Pemex. Again no gas.

    Gasoline Shortage in Puerto Peñasco

I just drove down Benito Juarez. I noticed two Pemex stations that had their pumps blocked off and two other stations with lines of cars a quarter mile long.

Tucson woman accused of gambling away $5M in embezzled funds

Brokenwave: Keeping the existing HOA with fresh leadership is by far the most efficient path forward. Some current Board members might consider stepping down as part of the healing and moving forward process. My community in Flagstaff recently went through the creation of a road district to...

Tucson woman accused of gambling away $5M in embezzled funds

Bob: Anyone considering a real estate purchase is going to make “an off the cuff analysis” before buying. Mine is probably better than most as I’ve bought and sold more homes than most, and I seriously considered Cholla Bay, which I still fell has a unique southern Mediterranean vibe. I just...

Tucson woman accused of gambling away $5M in embezzled funds

Presumably the HOA Board was paid exactly zero, the same as US HOA Boards. By the way, I was President of two CA HOA Boards, one with 270 homes that had average valuations of a million dollars fifteen years ago — twice that now, as well as high profile litigation issues. The essential duty of...

Tucson woman accused of gambling away $5M in embezzled funds

A number of media outlets are quoting the indictment that the amount taken from the HOA was $360 K. Google Helen Marie Dahlstrom and select news stories.

Tucson woman accused of gambling away $5M in embezzled funds

Based on the advertised sale prices of beachfront properties in Cholla $100 K is chicken feed, and so is the $170 K that stolen. When we were looking I went inside 8 or 10 homes with sale prices above $400 K. There is easily $50 M in property values in the HOA, and probably more. Homeowners...

Does she own property in Mexico that could potentially be seized? Was there any officers and directors insurance? Are the same individuals still running the HOA?

    Dogs

Our record for one vehicle is three cats and three small dogs. Absolutely have current rabies vaccination with proof. Have carriers and leashes ready in case you get pulled for inspection. A good rule of thumb is everything you do is against some rule, so try not to get stopped when you’re...

    Lukesville Border crossing Escort?

I crossed heading north at 8:45 this morning. No pilot cars. Also no cops on the south end of town. Half a mile from the border a Sonyota cop passed me at 50 mph red lights and sirens. When I got to the border there were two Sonyota cops and at least a dozen National Guard officers at the...

Sure is very quiet around here. Anyone home?

Town is pretty active. Garufa was busy last night. Drove the Can Am by JJ’s yesterday. It looks like it’s several weeks from being done. Spring breakers were seen yesterday afternoon.

    Santo Coyote at Encántame Towers

We had a very similar experience when we went to Santo Coyote two weeks ago. Qualitatively it looks like many of the units that have been occupied are already available as short term rentals. It’s pretty quiet out there right now. Probably will pick up a lot for spring break.

    Rentals

I’ll also add that March is the time of Spring Breaks, and once AU, ASU, NAU, or lower schools are on break, rentals might be at a premium.
