Yesterday heralded the arrival of the notorious Green Valley desperado and his henchman Ross. This is a predictable week in the Desperado's schedule, which may have worked against him this year. I had a cordial visit with the two around the 5 O'Clock hour and they detailed some plans to wreak havoc on part of the town yesterday evening. The name of a famous Mafia overlord was mentioned.
At 6:15, after a visit to the store, I approached the intersection of Fremont and Josefa driving on Josefa Bvd. Ahead down the street I could see the high intensity flashing lights on several black trucks parked on both sides of the road adjacent to the Oxxo at the intersection. Numerous figures garbed in dark bulky clothes and helmets milled around the vehicles on both sided of the road, peering intently down Josefa towards me. A bit taken aback by this early evening show of force I slowed to an almost stop next to the group, anticipating a roadblock. They took no notice of me and continued to peer past me intently and down Josefa. Automatic weapons were held at ready and faces looked grim and focused. One gesticulated to the others and there was some movement in the group. I was totally ignored by the group so I moved quickly out of the way.
Were they waiting for the Green Valley Desperado and henchman Ross? Is this menace to society finally in captivity? Can the town rest now and not be concerned with his deprivations ? We need some answers.
