We heard there was a nest there. Glad to hear it wasn't "discovered" and the turtles were able to hatch. We had a nest in front of our place a few years ago. They hatched on Thanksgiving weekend that year as well. We called CEDO and they sent a guy to oversee the process. They said most nests have about 100 eggs and it's necessary to assist the turtles that hatch near the bottom of the nest. Due to other eggs, rotting eggs, sand, etc, they get trapped and can't get out. They called it cleaning out the nest. CEDO did a great job and we were thankful we called them. Here is a video of it.It was a beautiful Thanksgiving day- sunny, warm, with calm waters. The next day our son saw 18 sea turtles hatch and make their way to the water just east of Encanto.
