Jerry: this sounds like a fun adventure. When you get a date please let me know. Is the air strip in Lobos in use? I was told that for a while it was a prosperous shipping site for the cartels.

I love the ATV ride to Lobos from El Desemboque. One question: can I ride to Tomas from Desemboque?

I once met a bizarre but very nice and talkative Christian Evangelist who was stuck in Desemboque due to his transmission failing him. Johnny Walker was his name and he brought all sorts of food goodies and school supplies for the children. Johnny Walker had a large map of the Western Hemisphere with him and had layed out a Star of David on top of his map. According to Johnny's unknown but fervent and undoubtedly devout research each point of the Star of David on his map was a likely place for Jesus to return. El Desemboque was one of these points. When we parted I had an extra six pack of beer and risking offending Johnny and his strict Christian principles offered to leave the beer for him. Johnny Walkers reply: " the good lord placed all sorts of things on this planet for our use, I believe beer is one of them" , "I'll take the beer".
I have lived by this principle since.........

They just had the smaller to medium brown ones I traded for some stuff so not sure on price. The checkpoint only has one guy in it and he waves everyone through from the door

I bought some shrimp from Juan the Shrimp Guy in Cholla 3 weeks ago, Jumbo browns were $8 and Large were $7 per lb.

cool on the checkpoint. I heard the shrimp in lobos are 160 pesos per kilo and they are medium at best.Where do you get your pesos from and what has the exchange been Leigh
