Geocaching in Rocky Point

Hi all. I found this forum by accident and have spent the last 3 hours reading some amazing and insightful threads. What a great community. I wanted to say hello while also posing some questions.

I love Rocky Point (RP) and have visited countless times since I was a kid. I am also big into Geocaching, which is a GPS-enabled treasure hunt where you locate hidden containers and sign a log sheet showing your find. There are several of these in RP, including in the cemeteries, the docks, the outskirts of town, the estuary, and even the Malecon. Some of these hidden containers have lasted for over a decade, with geocachers stealthily visiting them and signing the logs from time to time. If you live in RP or just like to find new adventures when visiting this beautiful town, I highly recommend signing up for a free account and start searching! They even have phone apps for those of us who don't own a GPS device.

Who here likes to geocache and what are your experiences with it in Mexico? What are the most fun finds? Have you run into any problems? Thanks for sharing!

I left a geocache out at the 51 Mile reef. If you find it, could you please return it? It was an expensive anchor. <snicker>

Sounds like a fun hobby for landlubbers.
