We travel every where with our radar. Is crossing over with it in the car going to be a big "no no". Or should we just leave it back home. We have never been out of the country with it before.
That's what promted me to get the radar dectector. Have not had a ticket sense. The Ajo Revenue Enhancement Project is worse than Sonoyta!
I almost got nailed just on the north side of Ajo yesterday coming home. He was sitting way farther north than normal - where it goes back to 65. I was doing 8-85 passing a car in front of me and saw him at the last second and I thought for sure he was going to chase me down, but he never moved. I think he was probably looking at Facebook on his phone! That's what promted me to get the radar dectector. Have not had a ticket sense.
They are illegal to use in MX. We always have ours but turn it off while we cross the border and take it off the dash. Turn it back on when out of Sonoyta. We travel every where with our radar. Between Buckeye and Gila Bend on 85 the DPS uses a stopwatch and not radar or laser. They caught me doing 80 in a 65. My Escort radar/laser did not help. Also spoke with a lawyer and he said the stopwatch trick "holds up well in Arizona" Beware folks. That's what promted me to get the radar dectector. Have not had a ticket sense.
I too have been popped. Never saw it coming, too complacent. 84 in a 55 zone. Now I also look out for a decoy who is speeding and tag along behind that driver. They have got smarter in the US. If they are parked or maybe driving they leave them off until they can nail you... Direct from a horses mouth...
We call those decoys "probes." As they occasionally speed by us in, say, Ajo, we announce, "Launching probe!"I too have been popped. Never saw it coming, too complacent. 84 in a 55 zone. Now I also look out for a decoy who is speeding and tag along behind that driver.
