There was some server maintenance a day or so ago with Tyler moving the forum to a temp server and then back. I noticed your pics were gone after that, so probably a hiccup in the restore process. Thanks for posting them again!

I live in Sandy Beach full time. The military did what they needed to do to keep RP safe. It would be scary if the military did NOT do anything.
FACTS are the FACTS How many American tourists have been murdered in RP or died by gun fire in RP in the last 30 years?? Probably ZERO...I for one like that fact and like those odds..I and thousands of American tourists have been driving around RP some daily, some a few days every month for years without any problems.
Some on this forum talk about risks. Anywhere you live or go its entirely at your own risk. Your not 100% safe in ANY country. In the USA for example there are mass shootings, car jackings, home invasions, drug busts, drug shootouts, helicopters chasing bad guys, police shootouts. If you go to a movie theater in the USA its at your own risk. When the bullets start flying in a Safeway parking lot in Tucson do you think a police officer is going to appear in 3 seconds and save your life? Home invasions and carjackings occur in Phoenix & many cities in the US all the time and if you decide to own a home or drive a car in the USA its at your own risk & if it happens to you the USA police are not going to get there in time to protect you.
If your one of those people who are now afraid to come to RP. Great more room on the beach for me and my family & friends. Stay at home in the USA lock your doors, dont drive, dont go to the movies, dont go to the grocery store, pull your kids out of school because of the USA school shootings, dont leave your house.

Oh that's not drug/cartel/gang related you say? So you can point me to the crime statistics compiled and posted for Rocky Point? How about rapes and robberies? Assaults? DUIs? Oh, I guess the "FACTS" aren't available.

It's lucky I guess that there were two local fishermen driving that black Bronco and not American tourists...
One major difference in the U.S. vs. Mexico, is that when there is a carjacking, shooting at a Safeway, shootout at a theater, or any such violence I CAN SHOOT BACK.

I call BS on that story. Ofcoarse your not going to mention names because they dont exist. Were your apparent friends just out for a early morning 5am fun drive around town site seeing?? I was in RP and NOBODY was just driving around especially at 5am. Anybody in the area especially after hearing gun shots stayed put. When you hear a bunch of gun shots near by you stay put and lock your doors you dont get in the car and go for a stroll around town.

Sub, your example is from 1991?!?! I guess we have to go back a few decades to find out. Also, if a violent crime does happen to an American in Mexico (especially in Penasco that has a heavy American presence, I am sure we will hear about it ten fold). Anything happens bad to an American in Mexico certainly gets media attention up north. Considering we don't hear much of anything of this sort, I think the probability is still pretty low compared to other areas of the world (or much less the US).
I sometimes feel like I am in the middle of two groups... one that promises bubble gum rainbows in rocky point with zero crime and the other than gets giddy and hopeful for any negative rumor or story of something bad happening. Just like in politics, it would be nice if we did not deal with two extremes and people just looked out for the interests of the majority (down the middle).

For anyone going down soon, our friends went down yesterday and drive was uneventful. There are no checkpoints but say to watch your speed even past sonoyta on the open highway.

Please stop blowing hot air out of your mouth. Someone with higher intellect and a simple understanding of math can determine the probabilities of these things happening to you. I have an almost 0% chance that I will ever encounter anything you mentioned above in my lifetime, so why do you continually bring this up?
I also have the same extremely low chance (in the thousands of 1 percent) of getting caught in cross fire in RP.
So please, for the last time. Stop using the "shit happens in USA too" argument.
