Lovin it in RP!
There is a social/business group in Penasco called Uncommon women on common ground. It is made up of women both retired and still working. They get together the second Tuesday of the month and the event is hosted by someone who chooses the location and the theme. Normally 25-30 gals show up.
My wife hosted the event this month and the location chosen was the Baja Cantina and Hotel. The theme was a sewing contest for whom ever wanted to participate. At the deadline 9 seamstresses entered. All of the contestants were local and all but one were Latina. 7 out of 9 completed their application in Spanish. It was a great bi-lingual bi-cultural event. Over 90 women attended this event setting a very high record. Mike and Maru at the Baja and their staff did an outstanding job with the venue, the Mexican Buffet was over the top and their support for my wife was awesome.
Just a little more information to show what a great community we live in! Read Naomi's blog about the event here.
Enjoy!
