Any info on the wind and flies.

Looks like the wind is blowing from the east lately, Does anyone know how bad are the flies and smell coming from the Penasco garbage dump is?
I am hoping that the strike has been resolved, because the people who live in RP don't deserve that.

I have been there a number of times when the dump had problems and it was bad, even in Cholla Bay.

Going down next week and want to be able to enjoy being outside.

Lovin it in RP!
I liv between the dump area and Cholla bay by the tracks, we have no problems here. I went to the dump Friday and the flies are just thick. Its all the conch shells and active breeding. Nobody is on strike as far as I know but we have had disruption in garbage pick because of other reasons - hence my trip to the dump. No odd smells except if you are right at the dump. Been in Las Conchas and Cholla and town so far this week and no problems except lunch today at Maxes I had to fend off some flies that wanted my patty melt but we did sit outside...

Trash smell and flies? I recall one year we stayed at one of the Sonoran properties and thier garbage room was over flowing. Not sure if it was due to the weekend before we arrived and pickup wasnt until two days after we got there.
In all my trips to PP, I have never noticed any foul smells other than that one time. Flies?????? Oh well.
If there was a problem, you might think the resorts would say something so the comfort of the guest was not compermised.
My fam and I will also be there next weekend. Hopfully it will not be a smelly one.

When the dump starts to go overboard on smell the flies multiply by the millions. Seems like the further west you go the flies become less of a problem.
On Pinto PT. in Cholla we would see only a few flies and as we went into town there would be so many more, even near the ocean in the Mirador.
It was so bad 2 years ago in October, we would open the slider doors only for 5 seconds to go in or out and 5-10 flies would enter, it was tough to stay outdoors.
The fun part was when my kids would hunt them with the fly swatters. Now thats cheap entertainment for them.

Thx for the updates.

Where is the dump in relation to the Sonoran Sky?
Far, Far away to the east on the edge of town. Closer to Unconscious. Fies are not bad in the Mirador right now. I sleep with windos and doors open at night. Have maybe one or two visitors, only a few sceeters too.
