what everyone can still do is continue to express their opinion on his FB site. overwhelming the social media aspect plays a huge role in making a difference. i guarantee you he never expected this much controversy over his words and it will make a difference. my suggestion (if you have not been banned) is to continue to express your thoughts on his public forum...

That's what I've been trying to do... he's deleted two positve posts of mine this morning of things done by friends, one that helped support the Veterans of AZ and another to make life better for the people in the barrios here in RP... He's got his followers who are all a Bunch of Ass Kissing Lemmings... I intend to become the Black Sheeple of his FB page...

Considering where they have gone before, I didn't think it was too bad. They started off saying for the first time in a few years, no state travel warnings are in effect for travel to Mexico and that 100,000 students are expected to be headed there in the next weeks. Brought on Bart Graves from DPS for his tips for staying safe. Don't over imbibe or take drinks from strangers. Stay in groups and venture off into non- tourist areas especially at night. Check the state dept website for up to date info. Diane Ryan, I thought, was very fair in saying "Trouble can happen in the US just as well". And Rick followed by saying, " yes, but it probably is worse ending up in a foreign jail because the adjudication process is more difficult to deal with". I can't argue with that. All in all, I expected a lot worse. I'll take it.

Lovin it in RP!
I sent an offer to the station to have Rick and his crew come down for a news trip to report from Peñasco. Let's see what happens. Their email for story ideas is [email protected] maybe we could send them some helpful criticism on story ideas about Mexico. I agree with Mondone it could have been a worse report but it galls me that they just can't believe that there is no travel advisory, it is just shocking.....

It was so obvious it was killing him to be part of that story. They talk about not accepting drinks from people because you don't know what was put in it, and stressing the fact that you should bond with your group, and take care of each other. Ha! There's more cases of the boys they're traveling with putting something in girls' drinks than strangers doing it. I posted something just this past October about a girl from Ahwatukee that they had to carry off the beach because one of the boys she was with put something in her drink.

I don't know, unlike Mondone I just found it to be disingenuous. I'm sure a lot of the students will be traveling to Old Town Scottsdale this Spring Break and every other regular weekend out of the year and that's the kind of things you find out there. Those are all common sensethings that most parents (except Natalie Holloway's mom) teach their kids. I don't think you need to have a story on that. I didn't hear once about needing passport, sun tan lotion, anything positive like fun things to do, sites to see. It was the usual fox scare redirect and you could tell Rick had vomit in the back of his mouth as he tried a little cheap shot at the end about being arrested. Let's face it, for years peoplewwouldtry to detour you with the Mexican jail story. It was his little F u at the end. Imagine if they had that same story about travel to Rocks favorite place San Diego as everything they said would pertain to spring break there as well, can't imagine it? Well neither can I because it would never happen..... "and coming up next things your children should know before heading west of the border for Spring break". It was their little F rocky point if you ask me. I personally thought Diane Ryan asking, "... And why is there no travel warning this year?" with a semi puzzled tone in her voice. Why even throw that in at the end? In the media and relations world its called posturing.

And Btw, as a young adult who frequents Old Town Scottsdale, everything they mentioned happens on a weekly if not daily basis in Old Town. Being drugged, drinking too much, taking too much drugs, having unprotected sex, taking shady cabs... Lol

Joe my most insane friend (and that is saying something) buddy ran a shady cab between the sorority sisters abodes and the down low bars in Tucson. it was a van they called The Shaggy after scooby do...dope,sex,gunfire,arson,sidewiping mail boxes for 5 bucks a piece..he made 1 thousand a week until his bad karma caught to him....

I just spent last weekend in Penasco, with my GF and perrito, and we had the best time.. Beach was beautiful, sky was clear, saw some whales from Manny's, boo bar was rocking, Met some new and old friends, Brought some dog toys for the orphans at Sara and Anna's shelter, border waits were short, my house was locked and everything was still in it after a 4 month absence, an excellent weekend all around. The worst thing that happened was I got a bit of a sunburn... We came home, saw the news about the hit and run's , random shootings, etc (IN PHOENIX)... Maybe "Rick the Dick" should visit Penasco instead of blindly bashing Mexico. I actually invited him to use my house for a weekend and be his tour guide via his Facebook but he always deletes my posts and now I am not allowed to post there. I have been going to Penasco 17 years now, owned for 7 years, and have not once felt unsafe.. Not once... This includes bringing my kids since they were 6 months old, through now.

Its because Rick owns a boat he keeps in San Diego that he always praises it.. Maybe San Diego pays him for the promotions ;)

I just watched it, and not to worry... The only thing that the young crowd took in were the kids on the beach partying. Their making plans right now to come down to get drunk and hopefully, get :D.
