Hey guys Im headed down to the northern Sonora area next week and was wondering if this stretch is worth fishing. Hoping to get into some bay bass and corvina, using flukes and krocodiles. Is the beach area 30 min of PP, worth fishing or do I need to go south of PP ? Any help is appreciated. If you need tips fishing the San Felipe area I can help with that as well.

I will be fishing and camping from the beach, Ive scouted on google earth, north of Rocky Point, as well as to the south. But I would like to stay further north, maybe south of Bahia Adair.

Is it safe to camp down in Jaguey, Bahia San Jorge area right now ?
. No problem...getting to Jaguey from the coastal highway is as before on and off locked gate wise but you can always come to Santo Tomas and head north on the beach......you want to go to the spit...15 miles North, the stick standing up 2 miles past the fish camp tower say half way. Is a good camping spot.(TJ's spot where Kenny caught that big Corvina)...high tide you could kayak in the wetlands behind the dunes...awesome place!........if you want to go out in a panga Adolfo (our head guard) can call one up from the fish camp a mile south.figure 125 bubucks ore when you first hit the Santo Tomas property line if you turn right on the little dirt road it leads to Jaguey via the best cactus Forrest stand on the Sonoran coast...stay right or..........bring a shovel

Where exactly is San Tomas on the map, and the spit you are referring to is the one on the south end of Bahia San Jorge ? i see a road out of Villa de Guadalupe that looks promising.

Haha, I wish. Im still in university right now, doing some botany research down in Imperial County,CA and than heading down to the Santo Tomas region next week. How many check points should I encounter on the way down to Santo Tomas, if I coming from El Golfo Santa Clara ?

Oh yea and thank you so much for the tips Jerry. Lets see if I like Sonora over Baja. Im 25 and have been down to Baja dozens of times and Ive yet to check out Sonora. When I get the time Id really like to explore the little towns, missions, countryside, and bacanora plantations. But with time contstraits next week, Im going to head down to Jaguey or Desemboque at the furthest.

. I would not waste my time at Desemboque....for middle of nowhere stuff range from 3 miles south of Santo Tomas up to The spit 15 miles north.ask Adolfo the guard at Santo Tomas for fresh water....you can drink from the tap there. lobos is more ratty...but more fish.....
