Rocky Point Rally ** Should We Avoid? **

We planned a visit to RP during the week of November 5th but just noticed the 2012 Rocky Point Rally is scheduled 11/8-11/11. We've never been down during this event. Does the bike rally present any issues that should be avoided by a visitor to RP with an RV?

None whatsoever. You probably wouldn't drive your RV to the Malecon or up Calle 13, anyway, and those are the places to avoid if you're referring to bike traffic. The Rally brings a really good energy into town. One of my favorite events. This year we'll be at the explanade of the Penasco del Sol hotel (at the end of the road after you make that left turn, where Carnival sets up) with the rock concert sponsored by Chester's Harley-Davidson and Monster drinks, among others. Concert starts at 4pm, if you'd like to come by.

Yeah, I agree. A very orderly crowd, moreso that the old Spring Break folk. I love the sound of rolling thunder all over town during the rally. Get into the Malecon early and plan on staying all day and evening. It's where the action is, lods of fun. Calle 13 is similar but the Malecon is best. Overall I think the RV parks are not impacted much at all.
