I found a canoe

Lovin it in RP!
While walking at low tide Sunday afternoon in the area at Lopez Aceves I saw what appeared to be a whale way off shore, I mena like 1/2 mile from the dry sand at least. I sludged my way out there and came across this overturned boat. It is not a panga, it is a canoe style but very large. I walked off a measure of about 24 foot long and more that 4 foot wide. I took some pics up close and I also took a pic with Cholla Bay way in the back ground. I could not determine what the boat was made of and it has been there a long long time. It had critters taking up refuge all on the inside as well as on the outside. Anybody knows of someone who lost a big canoe a long time ago?

What material is it made of? In the Steinbeck book "The Log from the Sea of Cortez" he writes about wooden canoes used by the indigenous people of Nayarit for hundreds of years. Maybe one broke loose and found its way to Cholla Bay.

I couldnt tell by touch but some of the pics look like it could be wood, and the split at the tip of the boat looks like wood
