It is impossible for a sitting president to "abuse" his Secret Service protection. Protection is not a choice for the president, it is required by law. Do we really want to live in a country where the president’s children are not protected? I can only imagine the breakdown in the decision making process knowing that your child is in danger or could be held by terrorists. Every president, regardless of their political affiliation should be protected. Everyone should realize that the Secret Service is not protecting a person, but the integrity of the office to which they were elected.Kenny...my point was that the State Dept. was issuing warnings about travel to Mexico...while Obama's daughter went to Mexico.....all the Presidents abuse their Secret Service protection (Dem./Repub?)...although, Obama's family "vacations" seem a bit extravagant and frequent, considering the state of the economy...but that's probably Fox News talking (or Rush....)...right??? :stir:....
The issue here is not the protection afforded the first family, but the double standard by the current administration when it comes to travel in Mexico.
