Shrimp per pound? and best place to buy?

Just wanted to see where you all recommend where to buy jumbo shrimp at the best price per pound? Suggestions?

you can go to Procesadora Mar de Cortez on Sinaloa, behind the Pemex on Benito Juarez, south of the blue Stadium as you go over the speedbump, take the street just south of the Pemex and turn right at the stop sign and it will be the 2 story building on the left side.
They have the 2 kilo blocks or if during season, ended in March 14Th? you can get the non frozen shrimp, they have from the small to the very large shrimps at a very good price, on the other hand you can go to Jessy and Alberto at the old port, the street before the fish market, across from Posada La Roca, next to the Pharmacy they will clean and get it ready for you to cook it at a very reasonable price and on the weight you asked for!!

I bought 20lbs from Alberto & Jessie for $7lb last month. Large shrimp, all one size. I give him a couple of days notice and he hand picks it for me. I stop on my way out of town and he fills my ice chest with ice and packages of shrimp. I've never had a bad shrimp - not even one piece - in ten years. I'm really mad they got bumped to a different location with the construction. He told us he bought some land or he leased some land for a nicer spot but we couldn't figure out where he was talking about. I think it was where the cruise port is suppose to go.

If you go, be sure you turn one street BEFORE the shrimp markets. He has a sign in the street, but it's on the right just a few feet from the corner. If you just want a couple of pounds, he will clean it for you for free.

I've never tried the place in town, but I've heard it's good too.

3 Boys Shrimp will be at the Farmers Market Art Expo today behind Don Julios Restaurant on Blvd Freemont and Sinaloa from 10:00 to 4:00 they always bring the cream of the crop with them to this event

They sell all kinds of fish also....and the prices are clearly listed (US$ and peso)....

Besides being shorted on the weight (I carry a 5 lb dive weight if I'm really concerned and jokingly offer to check the scale), you have to watch some of the vendors on the malecon when they grab the shrimp to bag(the jumbos are on the top, but right below are smaller ones).

When you find a good vendor...stick with him!!! I haven't bought from the one who is right next to Mary's Restaurant (the side as you're coming in to the malecon), but friends have said good things about him.
