Pinky's Going Out of Business This Weekend

Per the Pinky's Dive Bar Facebook post under the invite "PINKY'S LAST WEEKEND"
http://www.facebook.com/events/112100082248380/?notif_t=event_invite

"Due to unfortunate circumstances, Pinky's will be closing it's doors for good. So come down enjoy one last day with us. Drinks will be CHEAP!!!"

First the Sandbar, now Pinky's. Very sad they couldn't last through Spring Break. If anyone has any other information on this, please post below. Feel absolutely terrible for not visiting when I went down last weekend.

Pinky's got the Black Dog clientel while they were closed which helped them some but the Dog is now a fancy casino and is doing some business.

Ah, I thought it was mostly the Sandbar crowd, but I guess you can't rely just on a few folks that couldn't support the other place either. Damn shame what's happened to the Mirador area, thanks to the RV park graveyards.

Didn't someone try re-opening the Sandbar recently?

I wonder how much the American Legion opening on the street up from Pink Cadillac had to do with it?

Did you say Black Dog is a fancy casino? What do they have there?
Casino stuff, slots and a Sports Book room, bar is open, I guess food too but don't know about that. It's pretty well done, thick springy carpet, low lights and lots of one armed bandits.

Good point about the American Legion, but doubt they have a pool--quite a draw for the dog days of July-September. That will be missed. The Sandbar was open for the weekend of the recent Roger Clyne show, if I'm not mistaken, and maybe even on Superbowl Sunday. I walked up and noticed a sign on the gate stating which days it was going to be temporarily open and we had just missed it.

Last weekend was the first time I got to eat at Pinkys dinner. Food was great and for a good price also. I am not sure how the legion will affect pinky's I noticed there is a new restraunt above the legion serving buffet style food.

Yeah, Pinky's is at the bottom of the Pink Cadillac club, off to the left where the pool is. Does anyone know the fate of the Pink Caddy? Seems like it was only open during holiday type weekends last year.

Relax.....we're driving!!
Pink Cadillac will remain open as it has since day one, the dinner is open in the am hours maybe a little late, the bar upstair opens in mayor holidays or party days as Spring Break, etc, the way I read it is that the owner of Pinky's, renting the local from the owner of Pink Cadillac, is closing due to personal circumstances, does not say for poor business, a month away from one of the most profitable dates in RP.

The American Legion is a members only type of place, visitors are allowed with a member, food is served on some days and as for what I been told they do not serve breakfast to avoid a food war with Pink Cad Dinner, however the owner of the building where the Legion is located used to have a restaurant in that location so has decided to open the restaurant in the second floor, which has nothing to do with the legion other than they are located in the same building.

Saturday Feb 18Th will be the last day of Pinky's as we know it!!
