Gliders, ski jets, tide pools, wading, sunning on the beach, perfect December weather - what a beautiful way to end 2011 and start 2012. Wishing everyone a fantastic Feliz Ano Nuevo. And may it be a super fantastic 2012 for Penasco.

Lovin it in RP!
Naomi and I are hitting the beach this afternoon with an ice chest full of cold ones and a mean need for the sun and sea. Jan 1st 2012 here we come!

What a perfect weekend, and beautiful weather to bring in the new year. On Friday, Playa Miramar was graced with hundreds of dolphins, jumping, doing flips (unfortunately we missed it). We ended up on New Years Eve at the Lighthouse, and I was surprised how crowded it was with Americans. We spoke to another group from Tucson, and they were staying at Las Palomas and said Sandy Beach wasn't crowded at all. We guessed all the Americans were possibly from houses-i.e. Las Conchas, or trailers- any other observations?

Lots of people in Cholla so my guess is that the regulars that own homes were all down for the weekend. JJ's was packed Sunday when my girl friend and I went out for burgers and beer and it was awesome on the beach at the reef where there was a few people enjoying our wonderful coastline and weather!

Monday and still beautiful - think it goes down to 69 degrees come Friday - no wind, calm seas, clear blue skies - a slice of Paradise.

Even the water was not to cold.
I paddled my toon out a mile off PDO and got into a ton of rock bass. Every drop a fish and nice size. I came in when my fish box was full and my arms tired.
We were blessed with a perfect weekend.

I stayed at Bella Sirena for a week begining Christmas Day. It was very quiet. For fun I counted the cars I could see in the Sonoran Sun parking lot each morning before people get going. The first morning, 5. Then 11, then 14... New Years Day morning I counted 42. This was only on one side of the parking lot (so double this number) and only what was in my line of sight (but I think that included most of the lot). A saimilar influx occured at Sirena. Sandy Beach still wasn't crowded (it's a big beach!), but people were definitely there. Great to see that.
