I assume you're talking about qualitative analysis? They showed us in the video how they plan to qualitatively document the catch to ensure that the buyer knows that this product came from sustainable fishing. Once again, they showed us in the video the computer system that is linked directly to the ships gps that monitors the catch. I would think that the quality of the shrimp would gain more of a market share then simply having a higher price. I dont think that having a higher price dictates market share, quality does.I think it's great these people are doing this and I'd like to support them by buying their product, but without government oversight these kinds of efforts can wind up like the "dolphin safe" tuna. I understand there was some serious cheating by some tuna producers who were not really earning the dolphin safe label. Anyone can say their product was harvested a certain way, but without monitoring it's just a "trust me." If the Cleanfish folks begin getting a competitive market advantage, as in restaurants and retailers being willing to pay more for their shrimp, we should expect to see others start to make the same claims.
