Drunk Driver at Noontime

At noontime today we were just told that a guy was driving around drunk with kids in the car - so the guard called the police and he wouldn't open the gates until they arrived. No way was he letting a drunk on the road with kids in the car!

Now, I'm sure that the story will eventually get around as to how abused the driver was and how the Mexican police spoiled his fun. What he will neglect to mention is that the guard and the police might have saved the kids from injury - or even worse - death.

We had just arrived when the police did so not sure of the final outcome, but I am sure that he wan't going to continue his joy riding with those kids on board.

I'm glad that Penasco feels a child's safety is of the highest concern above all else.

More than one kid growing up in the west learned to drive by pouring his dad in the back of the truck and figuring out how to start the darn thing for the 20 mile home from the bar to the ranch...this guy should have let the kids drive..

That brings to mind the tee shirt with the drunk cowboy on the horse and his dog sitting on his lap with the reins.

Title, "Designated Driver"

Where was this gate?

I lost my sister - and almost lost my Dad - to a drunk driver. I have no tolerance for them at all. One Christmas morning while driving to a relatives we had a drunk go roaring by, almost taking out cars. We contacted the police and further down the road saw them arresting him. All our friends said how terrible we were to turn him in and ruin his Christmas - they didn't seem to be concerned about the fact that he could have so easily ruined other people's Christmas! I honestly couldn't understand their view point - that the drunk's Christmas was more important than a family on their way to church or family.

Sorry about your sister. I would call that guy up every night at midnight ....Just so he doesn't forget,,..if we lived in a country with good rapid transit I'd be half in the bag half the time...

How do you expect to drink all day if you don't start in the morning... We have seen this in the states as well. there was a couple with a 3 yr old kid with them at a Sushi Restruant who were so drunk the wife was puking in the lobby of the place. The hubby was well on his way to blotted. Someone in the restruant called the cops who were waiting out side for them. The guy went to the car and put the keys in the door and the cops came up and asked him not to drive. The driver got very irrate and then he got tazzed...He went to the hospital his wife and kid made it home in a cab. Then all his drunk friends came out and explained how bad the cops acted and who the SOB was who called the cops. I left at that point.
