Recent obsevations about Rocky Point

We were stopped a few years ago coming back into the US. We had to pull over, get out and stand on a marked spot on the concrete while they searched our car and fifth wheel. The officer kept apologizing to us and tell us it was a random thing they had to do. Two guys, searched for about five minutes. Then let us go. It was all very formal, except for the fact that they didn't find all the produce I was bringing back and it was right under their noses.

we were also down there at the bella sirena last weekend. weather and water were great. little windy but not much you can do about that. did not hear about the quad accident. there was a family down in front of las palmas that got stranded out in the surf for about 30 minutes. we saw the crowd and was wondering what was going on. guy we met told us about it. big crowd with no one helping. he asked what was going on and once he heard he swam out and pulled them in. said it was no big deal. said those people should not have been swimming in a pool let alone the ocean. both parents started chumming on the beach as soon as they got out of the water.

on our way to the boarder we started listing off all of the things we needed to declare. started losing track so we decided to write it down. all we had was a magic marker. we pull up and the guy asks if we have anything to declare and I say "yep, we made a list". I pull it out and he chuckeled and said to have a nice day. nephew behind us had a ham sandwhich. guy asked if he had any pork products? he said yes. what kind and where? told him ham from utah in a sandwhich. guy said, thanks. have a nice day.

Nobody else wants to comment on Guaa Guaas? I need immediate confirmation. RP JOE says its still open and it should be because Ive spent enough in the last month to pay the rent so I dont see what the problem is. Can anyone confirm please?!

I can confirm that it is open right now. I have not seen the owner, Sergio, recently or I would ask him. His brother is a bartender there, he might know but might not tell. Yes he did close Duna's and Meaw Meau and his restaurant El Sombrero is for sale.

Chulas, Mamacitas and D-Hooters ( La Habana, Blue Zebra) are open. I doubt that Gua Guas will close. He always said it was the best moneymaker of the lot. I think he opened Meaow Meaow and struggled with keeping dunas open to discourage competition so Gua Gaus would do well. He may try to sell it. If it does close the girls will go to whatever is open.
