Thanksgiving dayRocky Point and missing kayakers
Cory and kim Allen went out On their kayaks with a 14-year-old daughter yesterday.
They were staying in Encanto.
It got really windy and the dad brought the daughter into sure and then went back out to kayak and help the mom come back in.
That was the last they have been seen.
The authorities down here will not start searching for three days apparently.
Tom Boggess took his boat out and is attempting to just sort of go up and down the ocean between here and bird island.
We are trying to drive out by the Sandspit to see if maybe they blew to shore last night by chance.
The 14 year old is by herself now, Jonette walked down to stay with her.
I’m telling you because I’m wondering if you know anybody else with boats down here or a capabilities to drive razors or a quads up and down the beaches out there.
Maybe you could just share the word with some of the people that are down here in Rocky Point
Received this from a friend this morning. Any help would be appreciated.

My wife just told me about it.
I hope someone down there on a boat can track the wind direction and tide from time they went missing.
Don't count on the police or navy. Maybe ask some of the local fishermen that know the area.
Hope someone finds them.

About 12 years ago, 2 college freshmen staying at our house in Miramar were lost on our kayak. We were planning on having airplanes look for them, drones would work now. We got a call they landed at Laguna spit, 20 miles away the next morning. Prayers for the 2 people

As of 7 this morning still no sign of them. I live in Playa Encanto and there were strong off shore winds all day blowing from n/ne which would have pushed the kayaks away from shore. They are organizing a volunteer search this morning. Please keep these two in your thoughts and prayers.

The fishermen at Santo Tomas fish camp are aware of the situation and no one knows the currents and wind patterns out there like they do. It was a good day to look so really bad news we are still looking

Dear Ones:
We lived across the street from Corey and Sue and her children are beloved by us, as they are. We will come from Indiana as soon as we are told when and what is needed. I don't know if the grandparents are there yet (from CA and Korea). Bruce and I would be more than willing to come to Flag and stay/help in any way we can. My daughter sent me the news clip an hour or so ago and I can barely type coherently. If there is someone coordinating efforts of any kind; could we please be added to the listserve? We love this family as our own and are both in shock. If we need to come and help with Pax and Lux please ask us to come. We will! ( [email protected] )

Where’s JJ and his raptor? Make up a ton of ground cruising that Ford.
JJ is currently building up his new silver October birthday Jeep JK 2 door Willys Wheeler Edition that will relieve his 2006 Jeep TJ Rubicon of it's Rocky Point service of more than sixteen years of rough hot beach, deep sand and rocky desert environs.

Wife Diane's 2017 Ford Raptor is in the deep/sleep/protected mode awaiting the switch to her new soon to be delivered 2023 Ford Raptor R as a major chunk of trade in value so from here on out no more dings, desert racing stripes, 135 mph runs on the Coastal Hwy and six foot jumps in the Baja Mode.

Sorry to read about those poor lost souls that took their plastic blow-moulded Kai-Yaqui's way beyond expected service and safety conditions.

I would say by now IF they are still alive, without cold weather and cold water survival gear, the search would logically be around Guardian Angel Island or Saint Esteban Island.

Sad and later,

JJ

Does anyone know how long and how hard the wind blew on Thanksgiving. That might help figure out where to look . I was reading about Northerners : “
How does it get to Mexico? When the Plateau High is centered in the eastern part of the plateau, this cold, dry mass of air similarly rushes downward and outward. But this time it flows south through the Salton Sea Trough and the Colorado River Valley, then out onto the northern end of the Sea of Cortez. The areas first affected are San Felipe, Puerto Peasco and Desemboque.

Channeled between Bajas mountainous spine and the Sonora Mountains on the mainland, the Norther continues flowing down the Sea of Cortez, northwest to southeast, drawn like a magnet toward the areas of low pressure at the equator.

A strong Norther can blast down the entire 700-nautical-mile length of the Sea of Cortez and be felt at Los Frailes on the Baja side, at Isla Isabela off the mainland Nayarit side and even by yatistas making the 275-mile crossing between Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta.

I didn't check it Thursday, but thats the direction it blow's normally.. anybody remember these guy's 2003 ?https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/61446/bodies-missing-jw-fishermen-begin-found If I remember, they had no radio and didn't let anybody at the port know where they would be or when they would return to port..
Yep ,too cheap to pay parking fee and fishing in a lake boat. Mason the Lobos guy who had his Tacoma jacked a few years ago took one of those to Angel Island on the fish/camp trip I was on 9 years ago.His expat South African neighbor who can fix anything kept it afloat!

Getting some National news attention now.
A lot of stories like this in my Coast Guard days. Hope they find them alive.
