Word is Santo Tomas jefe is planning to shut off the ramp access soon as construction of condos will require it.
The current long-range forecast cone indicates that what could be Hurricane Kay by then has the potential for landfall along the Baja California coast on Thursday or Friday, and Hurricane Watches may be necessary along portions of the Baja California peninsula later Monday.
"While the details of the long-range track and intensity forecasts are uncertain, there is increasing risk of wind and rainfall impacts in the Baja California peninsula during the middle and latter parts of the week," National Hurricane Center forecasters wrote.
Meanwhile, even as Kay stays offshore of mainland Mexico Monday and Tuesday, heavy rains could lead to flash flooding and landslides along portions of the Mexican Rivera.
