Hello everybody I'm making my way to Rocky Point for the first time since I was in middle school and now in my mid 20's and and seeking the veterans advice for the best place to buy cheap cerveza and enjoy delicious tacos. Also any places that are fun to do Karaoke would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

If you want cheap beer and tacos, try La Villa or La Kumbala or Las Tres Hermana's, great liitle neighborhood bars. They dont have karaoke, but they do have live fight's that you will probably be able to participate in and there are taco stands near all of them. The beers are around a buck and if you order a 40 ozer it gets even cheaper.

Best place to crack a hard shell taco over someones head and have a beer.

Lol! Thanks for the interesting replies. I guess I should have been a little more specific, more interested in which places have the best beer prices to buy and take back to the condo. Not sure if I should just go to the Super Ley or an Oxxo type store. Also any tips on were to get an ice cold mug of Indio would be appreciated. Thanks in advance looking forward to having a great time in Rocky Point!

Oh! Go to Chango's over by the Sonoran Spa if you're staying out that way for an Indio! They have pints for $1.50 all day everyday. It makes me so happy I want to cry.

I still haven't found any better Carne Asado tacos than in Sonoyta at El Serape (on the west side of the T intersection)- and that includes visiting taco stands in Tucson (El Guerro Canelo, BK, etc.), Phoenix, and Penasco. They're only open after 4:00 pm, but if you go around 7 or 8, the number or locals and truck drivers who are there will confirm this is the place to go. One night at the border, we saw one of El Serape's workers with bags of food going into the Immigration office in Lukeville. We asked him if he was going to the US, and he said no, just delivering tacos etc. He said they request their food all the time. We also have seen contractors from Ajo make a taco run. Russ, if you and Naomi are up for it, maybe we can do a taste comparison in Penasco!

I used to collect Aprons on my travels and it just happens I have one from Sonoyta......and of all places "El Sarape" it really is good. Probably from 13-14 years ago......

Russ you told me you worked there when you got deported.
I wasn't gonna tell anybody about that it was on the down low. I must say though I can cook up some decent tacos from hanging around all these guys down here for so long. I actually used this apron last week for a family taco night in phoenix where we (naomi) and I served over 200 tacos in a few hours
