Fishing Puerto Lobos this weekend - there's some big brutes cruising around. Fish were boiling in early morning and late afternoon around large bait schools south along the cliffs. Trick is to throw surface iron at them, fast retrieve. They'll charge the iron, but don't always take it. The fish aren't boat shy either. Pic is a 38 pounder, the biggest one we got. Picked up several others, too, plus a nice grouper trolling. We went out to a deep reef, but it was goldspots only. Saw two molas (ocean sunfish) on the way out that had to be well over 400 lbs. Very neat to see them in the Cortez! Beautiful weekend, great weather, great water, can't wait to go back!
