Sure glad the cowboy's can't bring their guns across.Arrived in line almost to Hwy. 2 at 2:45 PM cleared border at 5:15 PM 3 lanes open. They can no longer send cars through the back. People were paying 2 policeman to lead them to the front, really upset a lot of people including the US Officers! Hope people will keep returning.
Probably using the same contractors that are doing the Malecon paving!!!:rofl:And weren't the new lanes suppose to be open?
I can somewhat relate on the line cutting....was always pissed during bike rally week when I was waiting on line for 2 hours watching 20-30 bikers at a time ride up the left shoulder to cut in front!Sure glad the cowboy's can't bring their guns across.
We arrived about 2:30 on Sunday and it took us about 2 hrs 45 mins to cross....BUT... I guess it should have made me mad or upset me but the idea that people are finally returning to RP somehow made it all worth it. The only thing that did bug me was I left some Oscar Meyer bacon in our cooler and the customs guy opened it up and tossed it..that part didn't get to me..what got to me was him telling me how I could have been fined $10,000 for not disclosing I had it. He went for for a full 5 mins (no, I am not exaggerating) about how trying to smuggle stuff into the country was bad, we could get the $10K fine, how it messes with the economy, how it brings diseases into the country. I am sure the guy was running for office somewhere All for half a package of bacon I bought at the local Fry's at home. Oh well..RP was great as always..can't wait for the next trip (hey baby..wanna play hide the bacon?)
Yeah...those ribs were my dinner when I got home (late).....what really pisses me off is that they throw the stuff in the garbage (supposedly)....although that specific agent put my stuff into plastic baggies (maybe he had some ribs for dinner???)...why not let me walk the stuff back to the fence line....and at least give it to the stray dogs hanging around. The "pork fetish" at the border is beyond belief. Yanno, I could understand it if I had a truck full or raw pig carcasses. But processed meats, like bacon, hot dogs, ham, bologna that were purchased in the U.S. originally somehow magically become infected once they cross that invisible line into Mexico? Don't get it, never will. And yes, I've had perfectly good sandwiches taken from my cooler and thrown in the trash. Dude, that was my LUNCH you just threw in the trash!!
Damn ham smugglers!!! :ham: :ham: :ham: :ham:
