Fuel prices

How are the fuel prices doing? Price per liter, diesel and gas prices please. Diesel is out of site here in Casa Grande $ 3.59 per gal. Looks as we will be going less often and for a longer stays.

Fueling up tomorrow...will post when I get back....looks like I should have held on to those 55 gal. drums from the last go around!!!

I was thinking of coming down fishing next weekend and was wondering the same thing. The boat is bone dry; no way I'm filling it. Still be looking at $300 bucks just to throw 100 gallons in it for a trip to the deep reefs, not to mention the diesel costs towing down and back. Could easily be a $500 weekend just in fuel costs!

Well tomorrow I am putting my 130 gal tank back in the truck. It is mounted and feeds to my main fuel tank so no extra duty. For that savings the border hastle is worth it. Back to the XRAY machine.

What was it...about 2 years ago when the gas/diesel prices went crazy????...some of us were carrying "extra" tanks or 55 gallon drums back....I was saving over $1 /gallon. Unfortunately, ADOT started cracking down...hitting with you with penalties/tax at the border if you got caught (US Customs sent you to the secondary inspection, where ADOT came out). The trick to avoid that was to make sure you crossed AFTER 5-5:30pm when the ADOT people left (at least back then).

I'm sure one of the "regulars" will pipe up with some "comments" now.....

It used to be as long as the spare tank was attached to the vehicle there was no extra duty. The barrels in the PU got taxed. The inspection thing is that Diesel does not X Ray and it appears as a black area with no detail. So if they want to see inside the tank they have to scope it, colonoscapay. At this savings it means I can go down and back for almost nothing.

Yeah Bill.....the cheapest I saw for diesel on friday was $3.59 at the Fry's supermarket on McDowell and 43 Ave.....When I was hauling a 55 gal. drum, I saved enough to pay for the trip down and back.
