"In addition to foreign trade with communist and drug trading countries, Mexico is also a source of cartel armament. 100,000 Mexican military troops defected to the cartels WITH THEIR WEAPONS."
Where did you get THAT information ?? 100,000 ????????????????? according to the Wiki there are only 192,000 total troops.
What is the point of the foreign trade comment? That would describe the United States and almost every other country in the world as well.
Roberto....this was reported by CNN in 2009...I'm sure that there have been more desertions by now, although I would agree that not all of them "defected" to the cartel...."In addition to foreign trade with communist and drug trading countries, Mexico is also a source of cartel armament. 100,000 Mexican military troops defected to the cartels WITH THEIR WEAPONS."

Roberto - My statement in regard to Mexico's foreign trade with "communist and drug trading countries" is that these countries are the sources of the weapons used by the cartels. The large quantities of weapons go both ways with the drug shipments, depending on the countries. Sure, a few individuals smuggle a few weapons into Mexico from the US. That's like comparing a few individuals coming north across the border with a personal stash in their pockets, with the tons of drugs coming across the border every day.
