You can see a two day prediction for free. If you want to see longer range (a week at a time) you must buy a subscription, $99 a year I believe. I have a subscription. You'll get different opinions about Buoyweather from folks. It's all based on computer models or "virtual" buoys, so it's not showing you real-live conditions at any given time. It can be very accurate or it can be way off, just like the weather itself. Sometimes, a low pressure area or cold front will move in faster or suddenly slow down and stall and that tends to throw the predictions off a bit. So, you can't count on it being 100% accurate. Where it has substantial value is looking at the trends. For example, if shows flat and light winds for a few days, you'll probably have a good window for fishing. If it's showing a blow like it is for this coming weekend, you can be pretty sure there will be wind and good-sized waves, making miserable fishing conditions. Buoyweather also summarizes conditions for the morning and afternoon each day and assigns a flag color - green, yellow or red. I've never seen a red that was wrong. I've seen green conditions that were yellow and vice-versa, but when they red flag (small craft advisory) you can bet you don't want to be out there in a boat.

4- day forecasts are free- the ability to get 7 day forecasts costs 80 bucks per year.

The wind data for Puerto Penasco is not coming through from NOAA accurately, so I recommend pulling the GFS Mateo data and look at the forecast wind speeds being listed there.

Here is the GFS forcast for this coming weekend- this is for an area about 20 miles offshore from RP:

Stuart are you still planning to head down...?

I don't know what the hell I'm gonna do- RP looks like it will be super choppy, and the fishing in San Diego looks stone-cold. The only good action in California waters looks to be a good WSB bite on the hard side of Catalina island

I seriously do not want to burn twice as much gas driving to California to get skunked, plus all the chaos on the public boat ramps over there, etc...

blah. Some cheese to go with my whine, please...?

Anything beats staying in Phoenix if that's where you are. It's miserable here. Burn less gas, go to PP, drink some beers, relax and forget about fishing this weekend! Problem solved! :)
