My husband and I are considering the possibility of a move to Rocky Point. We have a daughter in 7th grade. Can anyone inform me of our options for her education if we do make this move?
Thanks in advance for any information!

There are a few private bilingual schools for elementary and middle school grades (Liceo Monte Alban Montessori, Cima and Newland) I don't believe there is a private school for high school as of yet. I personally would not consider any of the public schools here in Peñasco as an option for my children's education. Immigration paperwork is required by most institutions for any student who is not a Mexican national.

Tough spot to be in. That age is a critical age for a kid to begin really embracing their role as a student, to begin interacting with teachers and administrators like an adult, to continue improving their work ethics, self discipline, focus, etc. Uprooting them and moving to a small town in a foreign spanish speaking country would be tough. Then again with the drug epidemic in many US schools, the bullying, gangs, violence, and shootings, moving may not be such a bad idea. A simple life in a beach town does sound really nice. Depends on your expectations as well as hers. Maybe someone else who has already made the move with kids could join in.

Next time you are down talk to Mike or Cindy @ Latitude's, we actually had a small discussion about that as his kids went to/go to school in RP, it was positive feedback btw but don't want to quote him since it was a private conversation but you will get 1st hand insight
