James... the line connecting the two platforms was telephone and internet connection and that wasn't a "PORT-O-POOPER" it was a phone booth... "just joking"... I like the waterslide on the Deluxe tower...

Actually when we stopped and talked with these guys they were very respectful and told us that they had been there for about 2 weeks... they were fishing the tides and that line was used to hang many more baited lines from to catch fish as the tides would come in and out....

I asked if they would mind if I shot some video and one guy spoke perfect english and said he didn't mind but "Please"not to include him in any videos... I also asked if they checked with the port captain if it would be OK for them to do this, he said no they didn't....

The very next morning my kayak buddy (Mark McMahon) who was staying in Cholla, went out in the bay at low tide and there wasn't a trace of these guys or the two towers to be found, everything was cleaned out... they had vanished completely without a trace...

I wonder if my questioning if they had asked for the port captains permission scared them off..? I hope not, they were having way too much fun... this reminded me of something I would have done at that age... well hell, at any age...

Wow, how interesting. A varation of the little 'fishing camps' and itinerate fisherfolk that used to be found around the sea of Cortez. It looked like construction scaffolding at the delux model. What was the rest of the material? Some large pipes. The cabin walls? Looks like it just sort of sat there, not anchored? They moved all that overnight? Wow. Do you think they had a panga? Yeah looks like a great lifestyle. Maybe they will show up along the coast.

Roberto... no pangas, no anchors, they were way in the back area of the bay... I imagine they just drove in with pick-ups and hauled everything away overnight during low tide... and as far as their prefered construction materials it was pretty much a little bit of everything, like the houses out in the barrio... I didn't show the inside or topside of the deluxe model but they had upolstered furniture and a table and chairs... I don't know what was behind those panels but there may have been an entertainment center... they were livin large and havin fun... and I was and still am envious...
